In many ways he is the type of person that embodies what a genius should be. Unlike some of his peers, predecessors and forebears in philosophy-- Nietzsche had a very unique way of developing his ideas. And they weren't exactly coherent, but holistic in a sense that it gave birth to ideas that would be used in many works of philosophy until today. Sure he cribbed a lot of shit from others-- but the way he used these shit was novel.
Also, he was fucking crazy. You don't find that often these days-- nowadays it's sad to see that physical, mental, and psychological appearances score you more points than what you actually have to say. Sure it was like that ever since, but with all the new media, commercialism has led to the degeneracy of culture...
