Read it recently.

I wasn't terribly impressed. I dunno. The structure was interesting, but the characterizations were vague, as was the message. Way too many chapters where characters just sat around and thought and/or drank wine.

IDK he's probably one of the most groundbreaking writers of his time in the Spanish language. His influence still lives on and can be seen in writers like Bolaño or Marias.
I think he was definetly a genius when it came to short stories, but hey that's just like my opinion

Im enjoying it so far and would agree its memeable
