i loved neuromancer but snow crash reads like a weeaboo wet dream.
>>7458618
You should start with Neuromancer and Snow Crash. Altered Carbon is good too, although that would be post-cyberpunk

Oh and Vurt, definitely look into Vurt.

Exactly.
Neuromancer. That's the definitive starting point.
>>7458618
Gibson's later work is better. I love the Blue Ant trilogy.
The real world has catched up with the genre, in a way that is an achievement.
Nueromncer
BurningChrome
& pic related.

apparently your sentence's verb hasn't "catched up" with its tense.

some a.nons dont English as first languag, a.non.(also some are stupid)
I would recommend starting with Snow Crash or Neuromancer, each has its own strengths. Remember to read them in context though, so many people bad mouth Snow Crash because they are reading it now and it aged quickly, at the time it was written it was bleeding edge stuff. Neuromancer is great but always a little odd i find, same with all Gibsons stuff, Vurt by Moon has also been mentioned and I put that in the same oddness category. Cant put my finger on what it is though.
Altered Carbon, is worth reading if you haven't regardless of whether its cyberpunk or not so is Black Man or 13 if you are in the USA i think. Same with Accelerando, not the best written book but it spews ideas and concepts that Stross uses in other books to great effect, kind of Harry Harrison mixed with Asimov for the internet age.

films: Ghost in the Shell, Blade Runner, Johnny Mnemonic
video games: Deus Ex, System Shock
Neuromancer, of course. Is the founding work. Burning Chrome is the embryo - and imo, better the Neuromancer itself.
>>7461982
neuromancer is quite confusing i find
anyone else feel this way
only read Gibson and then maybe mirrorshades
>>7458618
The gibson
>>7461726
>Ghost in the Shell
yes, but the 1995 film
Did anyone else find it really hard to get through Neuromancer?
I'm pretty handy with computers and know how they work inside-and-out so my imagination completely shorted when I read his strange fantasy descriptions.
