To some people, it is proper criticism. Those people generally review and critique media within their own little bubble, and when they start to get more widespread, mainstream recognition, they're either panned by people who want proper critiques or they change so they can stay relevant on a larger stage. People who actively search out reviewers who don't prescribe to their personal political motivations or inclinations are more at wrong than the people who make those critiques for their tumblr blog or certain publications because they sensationalize those reviewers' reach and influence, which only ends up giving them more reach and influence.
I really hate that "criticism" it appears in movies too now. I blame SJW, reddit, and rampant political correctness
