might have to delete my goodreads account before the 1st of Jan to avoid public humiliation
75 is pretty unrealistic. A book per week is pretty good

CURRENT YEAR
>>7423140
that was my goal then i tried to read gravity's rainbow and life kept happening and now i have no chance.
>>7423135
Just read small novellas and YA to get to the goal.
>>7423152
GR was one of the books i read this year actually, i ended up powering through it because i took a 1 week break between each of the four chapters
>goodreads account
I genuinely seriously hope you guys don't do this
>>7423140
You clearly don't go into any depth.
I spend three months on most of what I read.
>tfw
I don't think I've ever completed one. Too lazy to pad it with art and photography books.
>>7423208
got any good recommendations? flicking through coffee table books is always a fun way to kill a few hours
>>7423135
Post your GR op I'll be your friend, it's ok
>tfw your goodreads friends are padding their challenges with comic books.
One or two long non-fic reads or meme-tier books and you really need to cut down your expectations.

If you were using the community features aside from collecting fellow /lit/ or family I would agree with you, but as an impersonal book tracker, setting personal challenges, or making use of the recommendation mechanism goodreads is pretty great.
>not going to make it
I was actually way ahead of schedule at the start of the year, but haven't really read anything the past few months.
>>7423174
You can read more than 7 pages a day.
>>7423174
How long do you spend reading per day?
I will probably finish up 47 or 48 out of 52, which I'm actually pretty happy with considering how busy I've been this year.
>treating literature like a race
Plebs, the lot of you.
Nothing else to do this year
>read 26 books from January through September
>read another 24 since then
It's all about being in the right mood. Probably going to end up with a 1/week average, hopefully I can keep up the pace and go for 100 next year.
My amazon wishlist keeps growing faster than I can read though, I recently passed 1000 books on it...

I had that problem so I divided it into several lists (one for novels, one for poetry, one for philosophy, etc.) and now I never let any of them get longer than 25 books.
>>7424151
Oh Sebastian.
>>7423135
I never set a goal but I think I've read close to 50 this year.
Not like it matters, I can barely remember most of them anyway
>>7423175
you read only 49 books out of 40!
49/(40!) is about 6.0055... × 10^-47.
wtf
Almost up to 100.
Started with a goal of 40, bumped it up to 45, and then again to 50. I'm currently at 46, so I'm feeling pretty good. My only regret is not reading enough non-English texts.
>17 books so far
I hardly read anything from April to August
>>7423135
Read a bunch of short stories and you are set, 27 short stories(200 pages or less) is easy peasy.
>>7423140
Tai Lopez reads a book a day.
>explain why you haven't read a book a day
>7 of 20 books read
I just started reading this year, my goal was 1 per month and so far I'm up to 18, a few were 600+ pages, feels good man
