Is there something like pic related for literature? A chart or reference for people who are relatively new to it with absolute essentials across multiple genres?
Chart thread.
>>7386057
That's what the wiki is for. It's in the sticky at the top of the board.
>>7386057
The /lit/ starter kit in the sticky is the go-to for people wanting to get into literature.
Note that if you're going to look at it and think, "What the hell are with these old boring clasics?" then just look elsewhere and pick anything else that you're interested in reading. The starter kit is made of easily interpretable books for you to hone your literary analysis skills. If you want to read just for the sake of "getting into a good story," than just pick anything popular that was adapted into a movie or something.
Not that I'm just being a snob ranting against the plebs, I just don't want you to waste your time reading something you won't get and then complaining to us about our precious /lit/erature.
What's the point in dumping these?
>>7386132
So that people can save them or find recommendations on topics they are interested in (or as OP want to read the established memebooks)
>>7386148
Sure, but they're on the wiki. If you wanted to find something to read, you can browse them there. That's what it was made for.
>>7386152
Are they?
>>7386090
Oh right, didn't notice it in the sticky. Thanks for pointing it out. I'm reading Dune right now and almost done, really enjoying it. I plan to read Dune Messiah and lotr next. I will get stuck into this chart when I'm done with those.

To reinforce the groupthink and make sure that no one actually looks for books or recommendations using awards lists, goodreads algorithms, or highly regarded literary journals.
Requesting the Dark/Light graphic with Celine and Sabato and Krasznahorkai on it
>>7386225
This one?
>>7386251
It has a lot of the same stuff but there are only like 16 books on it and its really a nicely done. I think Ligotti is on it too.
>>7386166
Good point
>>7386258
You can't have nice things. I thought we discussed this.
Start with the Greeks.
>>7386251
Why did you do that to it?
>>7386225
Wouldn't happen to be this one?
>>7386289
It was the black and white books alone on a black background with white script. Close enough.
>>7386292
Huh, I made the original gradient just posted. I'd like to see that version you mean, if anyone has it.
>>7386297
Gj if that is the case, but yes someone edited yours for the bottom two lines
Any charts for Japanese lit? I grew interested after some works of Mishima and Dazai, especially similar works to those of Dazai.

>>7386740
Whatcha looking for, anon?
>>7386745
I just like this thread in general. I think someone was looking for something related to Camus.
Me personally? I like any images on various subsections of Asian lit as well as the 11 or so images surrounding intro to Philosophy.
>>7386802
Since you're interested in the Asian lit ones, is there anything else you'd want to see there? Maybe something beyond national divisions?
>>7386847
Well considering the only ones I ever see posted are just for Jlit and Chinese lit perhaps large one for the other Asian countries such as Vietnam, Korea, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, Laos, Malyasia, Cambodia? (And any other nations I may have forgot for that matter). I'd love to see what their history has to offer for Asian lit as well as any modern works that might be produced by authors from within these nations.

I've never see an image for the Middle East if it exists so let's get that going and then the Broader Asia one sounds like something I'd love to see actually get created!

>william lane craig
I had to participate in one of his debates when I was in college and he did quite poorly. Came off as very close minded and unable to structure his arguments.
Is he better in print? I only ask because I've read the majority of the stuff on that chart and I agree with almost all of it being good.
I've not read Craig, Strobel, Eliot, and some(ok, most) of the fiction.
>>7386062
>Title takes up a quarter of the chart
What idiot designed this?
>>7386088
I love The Memed by Herbert the Hungar!!!
