I recently discovered these unabridged audio dramatizations of Lord of the Rings by a dude name Phil Dragash. They're complete readings of the books, but the dude has unique voices for each character, incorporates Howard Shore's music, and adds sound effects in.
They're really well done(though there are a few minors goofs, but it's to be expected when doing a project that comes out to be a total of 48 hours all by yourself.
Although the YouTube channel and videos were terminated, I tracked down a mediafire folder with the files

Thiiis. Inherent Vice was great, I used it on mythirdread-thru, narrator sounded like an aged chain-smoking Spiccoli.
Unfortunately he didn't really capture 'Doc' to me, but maybe more like Denis was narrating the book for you. More surfer than hippie - but still great.
