This is it, we're at the end. Parts 1-5 are pretty much completed, if you want to add more stuff put it in the dump doc. We're writing the final chapter, which covers the death orgy, the return of Trump and the royal gala, and anything else you want to throw in there.

a critical intro? why?

Kolsti wrote one.
It can be satirical, funny or anything really. It would at least serve the function of cluing in a non-4chan audience on what the book is about, some of the absurdist/comedic elements, the function of anonymity - all obviously done in a lighthearted fashion but not ignoring the minimal semblance of thought that has gone into this thing.
>tfw want to write, but feel hungover from booze and toilet seat cocaine
>>7376502
well, what is Hypersphere about?
>>7376596
PRETENTIOUS ALERT:For me, it's the metaphor that all of the possible meaning and beauty we see in our own universe could have been created arbitrarily, by nonsensical and random factors which have no recognisable pattern or coercive chain of thought, ie: the new atheist ideal of natural and blind phenomena causing life. Any attempt to find meaning in the Hypersphere, mimics the absurdist problem of our own world: that there is no clear elucidation on any theme or point as an absolute - rather, just a sentimental reaction to observable phenomena which, at it's core, might (and is implied in the book to) not exist or hold significance. At another level, it's a comedic commentary on internet and capitalist pop-culture, with a focus on the ridiculous alienation that society brings, and a further sense of "meaningless" we seem to be stuck with today and our further inability to descramble the ever-growing and competing narratives of what is right or true. Perhaps even, there is a deeper message of the ability to defy that prognosis on the illogical - the silly and inane shitposting that embraces the arbitrary element of the hyperspherical universe and instead celebrates the "meaningless" as "meaningful", refuses non-existence on a delusional and emotional basis.Sorry for the totally shit highschool tier analysis
>>7376502
Kolsti didn't write a critical intro to TLOTIAT: Kolsti's Adventures in the Everglades. Completely different. Kolsti just wrote a chapter.

FINAL CHAPTER OUTLINE:
>Trump gets in with the executives
with the Figurants, you mean? Executives serve the ayy lmao
Yeah, that sounds good. Death orgy could look like
1 - Coliseum, balls-out everything and the kitchen sink weirdness
2 - Trump returns (interlude?), reveal of his plot
3 - Aliens arrive, battle, everything turns to shit
and then on to the puerile gala.
Good question about the ayy lmao. IIRC the basics of it is, they want to shape the world according to their manifesto at the beginning of part 3.
The executives serve them, founding the Black Ayyster Cult to bring existing conspiracies into the fold (such as the entertainment industry, eg Ben bin Al-Afleck). The aliens get ahold of records about the tenth room, sold to them by the Space-Jews (presumably info on how to create rooms/worlds, I guess info about how the Ants do their thing). They use this to develop methods of manipulating reality so they can reshape it. However, they need time to perfect the method, but they only have this window of time to do it (while the Puerile King is away from hyperspace, where they reside, and not a threat to them since he stopped devouring).
So the executives launch Hypervision and use some sort of first room feedback loop to trap all the viewers in a Groundhog Day-style loop, giving the aliens all the time in the world. They also get governments around the world to ease up on wojamba prohibition, which lets the Space-Jews sell it around the universe. This basically puts the world(s) in a state of sedition, locked in front of Hypervision and vulnerable to manipulation via broadcast propaganda. Some real tinfoil shit, this story.
The opening of the tenth room and their understanding its nature so some extent allows them to enter the hypersphere for the first time (remember, originally it was said going through all the rooms was the path from hypersphere to hyperspace). So now they can enter the scene with their full might, where previously they had to act through the executives/Cult via messages and visions. Other motivations: to consolidate control of the 10th room, since it might be a shortcut for them to use their technology on an existing 10th room instead of creating one -- and to take over the room because the people in the hypersphere are the most likely to stop him (especially if the netherrealm and the Puerile King is in there, perhaps they see this as their chance to eliminate their biggest threat).
Fucking hell

Given that dying brings you into the rooms + the anything goes nature of hypersphere, anybody on this list can be dead or alive and/or present in the tenth room
>>7378882
Nah m8
The Death-Orgy is all those people who can't get into the tenth room, right? Or am I reading this wrong?
Are they living people who haven't died yet and in death move onto the Hypersphere?
>>7379998
Yes, I would be proud to have a paperback of this in my house.
>>7380073
The Death Orgy is the tenth room, and I think it's absorbing the other rooms or at least all of the people in them. In any case, everyone in the Hypersphere (people who have died/travelled to the rooms) is there, and I think everyone else (first room denizens) are eventually gonna be sucked in there.
>>7380137

The OP cover is more than reminicient of schlocky 70s stuff like Illuminatus!. To be honest. It's good work but most people would not want that on their shelf and honestly isn't a semi-serious vibe the more appropriate thing to be going forbaiting withhere?

We need to finish the Death Orgy.
Check out the doc and help out.
I'm reading through part one for the first time in a month and I'm having so much fun. The Rimbaud translation, the choose your own adventure stuff, subchapters, fucking skeletons man.
Royal gala ending: Johannes recites a love letter to the Puerile King that attempts to free him of his fat shame and make him love his body. It opens,
'The hypersphere is a big fucking place... but not as big as you.'
>Some paragraphs are indented and some aren't
Maddening
>>7383700
I was under the impression that we were just going to fuck the reader and let the Gala be a "Mistah Kurtz, he dead" kind of moment.
But it's in your hands now.
Some dude is writing it out, so there's that.
So there, it's ended now! Great job everyone!
>>7383790
>>7383790
>ended
>implying "The End" is the end
Do you even the T-nth Room
>>7383752
>the cut to the Aquarium
FUCK, THAT'S SO MUCH BETTER THAN WHAT WE HAD BEFORE. Thank you, based anon.
what? come on... nothing wrong with that chapter, but as an ending it's so rushed, and talking to the reader at end to tell them the book's over is lazy
>>7383864
yeah, Mountain Dew thing is good. but the JET thing, while fun, is so disengaged from the present action (and doesn't really touch on the royal gala), it's a weird turn to end on.
by the way, all of the characters in the JET besides Emma and Trump are dead or from the past (DFW and Pubescent King/younger Puerile). so it could be some sort of purgatory. maybe they're forming a new world unawares (hence why it would be seen in the tenth room, which is just creation)
>>7383889
YES BABY
>>7383920

Hey guys, I've been chilling in Europe for the last month or so, and hadn't logged onto 4chan for a few months before that, so this is my first time back in a long time. Can't believe I missed this. Part 3 and 4 are pretty weak but they really have their moments too
Green anon removed the paragraph breaks in my bathroom story, why? It makes the walls of text almost impossible to read, this goes for a lot of the larger texts really. Does it look better to you? I'm not blaming anyone or anything, just wondering.
I think it's done.
>>7384302

Nice meme :^)
I myself am partial to the mountain dew ending followed by the choose your own and review.
>>7381584
i actually made both but didn't realize this was going to print or that people would actually like the covers. if there was a consensus I could make one print quality or parody something else. I actually work professionally in a design firm but I thought the cover in OP was closer to what people wanted for a final product
>>7384324
It's still up for debate, OP:s is pretty funny but We still need a back cover and there's been some debate about it all. I really liked your covers
>>7384323
isn't ending with a meme the whole point? it also gives us a vague connection to the Tundra universe, suggesting that the hypersphere contains the fictional universe as well
>>7384331
There's a gajillion such points already made in the story. It's not the take home point.
Also: this isn't Tundra, written by some of the same people and Tundra exists inside of the hypersphere but it's another thing.
Please write more of what goes down on the gala, if you don't force your favorite characters in there they will be forever forgotten. Just how everyone forgot about Boba Fett since he wasn't in the last fight.
>>7384376
>Is there a specific thing that bothered you?
I was actually kidding with the Boba Fett-sarcasm thing, like, please make more forced inserts, the Gala needs to be longer.
>>7384387

There are a handful of unused Kolsti covers since they went with the NYRB version. You can change the words or just add Hypersphere in big ironically ugly letters all over it. I'll go dig up another one. Or if you put this score the section in chapter 5 starring Kolsti it'll work. I just think if we're gonna make this a picture book we might as well get some use out of the covers we've made.

that's six covers. you can use five of them for the five parts of the book, and one for the cover. we have a couple more to spare, plus a back cover, and we can make more if we want something else.
>>7385621
They just published the Kolsti book and it's the best Tundra so far, so he'll live on in that respect at the very least.
I vote for removing all but the top review.
>>7385625
no. the occasional TLOTIAT reference is fair, it was the first lit book. a full page taken up by the title of some spinoff is too much.
really... just stop pushing this guy. he has a few shoutouts and a whole chapter from his POV. that's enough.
>>7385626
No, #1 was the best tundra
>>7385628
I wrote the 9/10 one. I like the others, especially the last one.
Also we need to fix the Pound quote if it hasn't been fixed already. I accidentally fucked it up. The formatting is all retarded.
It's a great end quote, though.
Oh yeah, what about that John Madden story. Move it up or leave it as is?
>>7385665
Move it up pre-orgy. Part 3 or 4
>>7385671
Correction, late Part 5
>>7385679
If someone else doesn't, I'll move it after class.
There's still a shit ton more room for a ton of more shit, especially about the Gala. It'd be great to have the Gala from other character's perspectives.
>>7385687
I already wrote most of the gala and would feel bad if I added much more.
Ey yo, who the fuck changed the "is this it?" Footnote?
It was really good before.
>>7385732
What was it like before?
>>7385704
I'm trying to work out Trump's big monologue in his interlude reveal. Then I'll add a few of my favourite characters into the gala, like Mypecuther's foreskin.
>>7385748
It's just the first "is this it?", then this life monologue, a police shootout in Mexico and then it ends with an Ezra Pound quote.
>>7385771
It didn't have this part, right? "all the time worrying, fading, dumb, sleeping a higher dream; born, you cry -"
>>7385790
No that was what I wrote, and then below, originally, there's the Ezra Pound quotation.
Me and Bottleman tried to suss out how to end it, so it's rough.
>>7385794
Starting a book with "Tryone says his wojamba supplier ain't treating him right" and ending on Ezra Pound is an insane progression.
wow this is something
Edited version. Cut down on the "Is this it" repetitions while trying to hit a rhythm with them, got rid of all the hyphens between words so as not to confuse with the hyphens separating each segment.
("Is this it?" Footnote>) You cry, "Is this it?", wordless - breast milk, pram strolls in Central Park, googooing - dumdums, educational television, classical music, "Is this it?" - schooling, possible autism, teachers - friends, Nick from gym class who can do the funny bone trick, Fat Tim, sunlit English lessons - grades, parent’s divorce, second house, Dad’s weird hobby - "Is this it?" - Mom’s next boyfriend, healthy dinners, high school - Nick gets hit by a car, new friends - pubic hair, Jane, Sort of Fat Tim, videogames - Mom’s next husband, videogames, grades, Jane - recreational drug use, WASP guilt, grades, college plans, waitering, first girlfriend (not Jane) - shit tips, grades, Jane (!) - not quite Ivy league but that’s fine son, Dad’s heart scare, smoking habits - "Is this it?", Slim Tim gets hit by a car, engineering course, cheap beer, subscription to your first newspaper - Mom’s next divorce, post-menstrual anorexia, grades, cheap beer - graduation, Jane, company internship - Dad gets hit by a car, funeral, promotion - new house, different barber, kids - Fat Jane, more kids, second mortgage, doctors appointments - suspicion of mild autism in second child, promotion, more kids - autism unverified, taking up Dad’s weird hobby, walking around on a Sunday looking for shoeshops and coffee - promotion, "Is this it?", Really Fat Jane, school tests for kids - drinking habit, demotion, game shows - divorce, kids taken, Fat Fucking Bitch Jane gets hit by your car, "Is this it?", hideout in Mexico bought with laundered company money, picture of your kids, Mom dies somewhere in between here but you don’t find out, police chase - shootout, scared, prayer to God, bullet - bleeding out, numbing, wondering when it ends - Is this it?
>>7385797
Sure, but the quote really spells out the meaning of the "Is this it?" part. Coming right on the heels of that, and ending the book with it sort of screams an interpretation of the story. Plus it's tonally very out of step with the chapter and story in general, being really wistful and forlorn. The melancholy of "Is this it?" fits because it's a lone note of sadness counterweighting the glib ending (Mountain Dew/CYOA + reviews). The Pound quote doesn't mix with the excerpt so that it adds to or blends with that effect.
>>7385790
Yeah it had that, and it was really fucking good. Now it's shorter.
Fix plz.
>>7385859
I wrote the original.
Fantastic edit anon, thank you. I think you're right about the Ezra quotation, it's too flowery to end on it - but I would still like to see it somewhere, I think one anon suggested having it before the Death Orgy cave intro.
>>7372218
Also, we still need someone to right a rap song for the Hyperniggas, unless we want to be super pomo (read: lazy) and just have [SOMEONE WRITE THE LYRICS]
Vote on the ending?
1. Mountain Dew / Choose your own ending
2. "Is this it?" / Canto 74
>>7385859
>Nick from gym class who can do the funny bone trickARE YOU STILL DOING THAT HAND THING?
>>7386024
leave it all except ezzy boy
>>7386024
Mountain Dew, then Choose your own ending, then reviews, then first Is This It with first footnote.
>>7386145
This.
I think the box should go around "fucking gay, horrible. 9/10" and then have the other reviews and "is this it?" below it, outside of the box.
JESUS CHRIST
>>7386179
The premise is that the box is where you write your reviews, though. What makes the other reviews different from the first one?
>>7386024
Mountain Dew/CYOA, then reviews + Is this it footnote (original or cut version), with the Pound quote at the beginning of Death Orgy.
Okay, I dunno if this is happening to everyone, but that Pound quote (which I like, but I think it should be near the beginning, maybe even inserted in a different chapter) keeps fucking up the formatting. There's something about the font or whatever that google docs doesn't like.
I suggest we delete it and type it out where we want it.
>>7386224
Alright, let's put it up at the top before the Death Orgy FADE IN part.
>>7386200

After the final chapter is done, we can just survey where all the covers should go to.
>>7383889
I'm the guy who killed Emma and Trump - they're not dead; working on a monolgue that uses Stirner memes for Trump's interlude that shows why non-existence doesn't necessitate death on the basis of absolute delusion. It's only half a joke, put a bit too much thought into the epistemology of it.
>>7386456
Is your rewrite in the dump doc, most importantly?
>>7372218
So now that things are wrapping up: what was the most underrated story anons?
I enjoyed Mypecuther's tale a great deal.
Someone move the goyimdang Madden story. My internet a shit and disconnects every time I open the doc.
who the fuck is typing the obama handjob story
NJJ, somebody deleted. Can you restore it?

What the fuck did you just fucking type about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class at MIT, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids with Anonymous, and I have over 300 confirmed DDoSes. I am trained in online trolling and I’m the top hacker in the entire world. You are nothing to me but just another virus host. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on the Internet, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with typing that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we chat over IRC I am tracing your IP with my damn bare hands so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your computer. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can hack into your files in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in hacking, but I have access to the entire arsenal of every piece of malware ever created and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the world wide web, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking fingers. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit code all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.
>>7386511
Once the Orgy is back online we'll move it to the dump doc.
“90% of the people involved have been cool anons, the kind who aren’t just autists but cool autists, the ones who build those giant lego sets and shit”
>tfw casually vandalizing a boy called wolf
Moved John Madden to dump doc. Whoever wrote it, you can go into the dump doc and specify where in the book you want it placed (prior to death orgy)
r8 my story about Leonard Cohen, Top Jew, and God's foreskin.
>>7387230
trying far too hard
>>7387243
Thanks.
>>7387230
I'd move the first part up to pre-orgy and the Part the Third up to earlier in the death orgy.
By the way, unless anyone objects, I'm going to delete the "woken up by Trump" story in the DO doc, since it's been moved to the dump doc.
>>7387459
desu I think it's so good it should be in the book twice. just my opinion
(i'm not the author btw :^))
>>7387459
Wait, is the Trump story in earlier chapters?
>>7387480
No, it's new
>>7387502
Alright, I didn't really notice its absence.
I have a found poem I wrote for class that is made entirely out of things Donald Trump has tweeted or quotes of other people have written about him.
It's real shit. Should I add it?
Are we done? Is it time to call it quits?
>>7388136
I think it's a bit late in the game to be changing the name. Let's just stick with Hypersphere.
>>7388140
hahahahaha lol
that was cute though tbhfam keep it 100
>>7388140
Dad please.
I could publish this today if we just had a cover
>>7388206
Dump dock needs to be fully combined with the actual chapters before that can happen.
>>7388206
If you give me tommorrow to finish Trump, maybe tie in the executives, hypervision etc seeing as it's still a plot hole not covered.
>>7388263
>plothole
uw0tm8e
>>7388668
Oh, I mean more like a loose-end. Let me post the original chapter outline for the plot posted in the last thread:
----
I don't think anyone's wrapped it up, despite it being a sizable plot point, and I could integrate it into my Trump piece -- unless someone else also wants to have a go at it?
One of my comments from the editing phase was left as a footnote on the edited story (the Kafka thing at the end of part 1 that was almost the ending). Looks retarded, delete it
I think it really really works as is. The gala could be fleshed out, a Johannes mention maybe? But wrapping it up *too* much kind of detracts from mountain dew and choose your own ending.
Lotta jew stuff all of a sudden.
>>7391309
Almost stretches the joke too far, like it's largey lost it's shock humor/ surprise value.
>>7391425
A lot of the later contributors seem to be trying way too hard to fit in, rather than just creating their own thing within the theme.

Yo, wrote up an alt-ver for the intro "everyone from Hypersphere" was here because I'm a grumpy angry man who wasn't gelling with the original. Feedback or faux pas?
>>7393656
The original intro was fuckingm fantastic, fuck off.
>>7393660
Just putting in a contribution man, don't get angsty, it's clearly put in by the doc - If we're not communally editing this thing there's no point. Read it, form an opinion, hate it and then call me a faggot.
>>7393660
And it wasn't the "FADE IN" intro either (I wrote that too).
>>7393162
getting this tattooed to my dick
When are we going to finish this? I feel like we might be editing too much.
>>7394170
Two days roughly.
Then an editing period for the final chapter. Everything else in finalized.
I would caution against adding more stuff to the chapter which is your own OC character - rather, just add in small references to past characters, and if you weren't in the project until recently, then just read the book and choose your favourites, we've got some good stuff.
>>7392072
I just wanna... FUCK!
FUCK YOUR ASS
This whole Hypersphere system is actually pretty interesting. How did you guys collectively come up with this?
>>7395246
I have no idea, but every time I try to explain it to one of my friends they laugh and look at me funny.
>>7395261
You could totally write a serious story set in this universe. All that shit with the many rooms and Hypertime and shit.
Imma send this off to my one buddy in grorrious nippon who was looking for "the next Nasuverse" for his dirt-poor indie VN studio.
>>7395271
