Bonfire of the vanities by Tom Wolfe was pretty good. I personally think it's underrated

Also, past year's been kinda sparse. Book of Numbers is the best new thing I've read, and it was teetering on the edge of okay. New Franzen was aight, and I've heard City on Fire, and Fates and Furies, are the MFA books of the year.
