Reason we are uncomfortable with such "claims" is, we would need to take the other persons right to decide on the matter themselves if we did say it. We know, the subject whether a transwoman is truly female, is a matter that everybody has to decide for themselves. That is not because of the controversy around it, but because we know ourselves how twisting the subject can be in its complexity.
You worrying just means you are a sane empathic person, respecting other people's rights.
It is easier making such claim when the person doesn't know OR explicitely let you know they view you as female and support you. Then the whole thing only concerns yourself and your beliefs, not theirs.
