That's something that I've started doing - like just observing guy's casually and seeing how they sit. what you have to realise, though, is being trans can be a direct block to your income. i've known a lot of ftms, especially when they're younger and still trying to get their shit together, who have money troubles because of it. one guy was underage and disabled, kicked out by his parents and trying to scrape together a feasible living, savings not an option, for some guys being visibly trans (publicly perceived as gender-nonconforming) can hamper their chances of employment, and i can think of countless guys who had their training, schooling or employment halted because of the mental health issues that can come with being trans, myself included.

If you weren't lucky enough to be born into money, it's going to take years for you to go to college, and another few to gain experience before you can move into a job making a good salary. I'm going to college right now full time and saving for top surgery on my weekend job, so it's school 5 days a week, working 2 days. I don't know where you are, but don't forget to factor in cost and do not underestimate how intense it is. Some places do it in 2 stages, but where I am it's 3 - and that's not counting for if you need to correct complications, which are very likely.
Having used the arm as the donor site, I've also come to realise that it actually renders your arm immobile for longer than you might think, too. So be aware that you're probably going to needsomeone to look after you and time off work for quite a while too.
But other than that, go for it. Even from people who've had nasty complications, I've only heard good things about how pleased they are.
