I feel you there. Most of the stares I get have no hatred or disgust or anything like that in them. But I know exactly why they're looking at me and exactly why I'm always catching people looking at me, and it does mess with your head for sure. I can't go around without feeling like I'm getting stared at. I always took the invisibility that comes with appearing to be normal for granted.
I'm not really "out" to anyone about the fact that I'm taking these meds, and I have no intention of ever telling anyone but romantic partners. Friends and people in general do treat me differently though. Not necessarily in a negative way, sometimes it's even in a positive way. It does feel nice to know that this shit's working and that it's made me all cute and feminine and it's not in my head, but I didn't really anticipate just how much it'd change things up as far as social interaction goes and how I feel in public. I used to look people in the eyes, walk tall and with conficence, and now I don't really do that anymore and just feel like I want to get out of public the moment I'm in it.
