I think a good majority of people that identify as bi when they're younger are still sort of finding themselves, and after college, getting a job and settling down, some tend to feel comfortable settling into one role or the other, especially if they consider themselves strictly homosexual at that time.
I think a good indicator is simply time. I've dated guys and girls, and have been with my wife for 7 years now (married 3).
