I think it would be fine for girls, but there are obviously biological issues of reproduction that have to be considered. Females are already trafficked more, but its still criminalized and unregulated, which is good for no one, so conditions and care are poor. Plus there is slippery definitions already on what is slavery. Slavery has never been perfect, but its gotten a bad rap in modern egalitarian times.
Rome had particularly good slave law.
Of course, if a male is bought or sold, one can convert them to whatever they want. When males are bought for sex, one of the implied benefits is that they cant get pregnant. Females can be fixed though.
