From little I read up on these freaks, there was another slaveboy who ran away and never came back when the crazy guy ended up hospitalized. So there does seem to be a pattern of him collecting these desperate young men. That said, the guy is such a mess, it's hard for me to imagine him successfully manipulating anyone.
