I haven't noticed. As someone gently older, before it became every twelve year old's favorite phrase, I find it sounds really stupid. But I don't see much harm in using it if you don't mind that.

People who feel the need to use words like that typically do so for attention and/or to fit in with immature ignoramuses. That goes doubly so for LGBT people.
