>Hours after directing public schools nationwide to allow transgender students to use the bathroom of their choice, the administration issued a second directive prohibiting health insurers from denying transgender Americans coverage and services based on gender identity.

>The administration’s new health insurance rule, finalized Friday by the Health and Human Services Department, could affect hundreds of thousands of Americans who have been denied coverage or treatment based on their gender identity or sexual orientation. While the rule does not require insurers to automatically approve all gender transitioning services, it means that they cannot categorically deny coverage as they have in the past. These affected services can range from vaginal reconstruction to treatment for ovarian cancer even when an individual identifies as a man.

>The rule, which applies to the anti-discrimination provisions of the Affordable Care Act, is significant because it compels insurers to apply the same standards to every plan they administer, including those in the private sector. It also bars discrimination based on sex stereotyping, which Lambda Legal senior counsel Jennifer C. Pizer said effectively extends the rule’s application to gay, lesbian and bisexual Americans.

>Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell said the new rule represented “a key step toward realizing equity within our health care system and reaffirms this administration’s commitment to giving every American access to the health care they deserve.”

I refuse to pay taxes and have the money go into Planned Parenthood abortions, cutting off penises/breasts, giving trannies hormones/therapy, etc.

If anything more and more people will refuse to pay taxes because these things are a choice, not a health crisis our taxes should be paying for.

Can't wait for Trump to get in office and fix all this shit.

Hahahaha, you believe that it's a choice. Ha.

This has been a thing for a long time. You can't be denied coverage through the healthcare marketplace but you can be denied the treatments relating to gender identity. For example I was covered for insurance under ACA but my provider doesn't cover appointments for gender identity disorder.
>>

Are you really this mad about planned parenthood sterilizing the willing instead of selling body parts?
>>
>>6206823
So, does healthcare cover treatment hormones and stuff?
>>
>>6206875
Nope, mine doesn't.

Oddly I'm also under my mother's insurance as my primary provider and while medication shouldn't be covered, it is.
>>

I should clarify that some other providers through the marketplace probably do cover HRT and some specific plans exclude it. It's probably less about discrimination and more just cutting costs in political grey areas that they can't be forced to cover.

Somehow I don't think people not paying taxes will anger too many people. You'll just go to jail and won't be able to vote anymore

ok, thanks for the advice. I plan to transition within the next year, but i don't know how ill possible afford it. I guess ill just shop for insurance (which i know nothing about). Also, did you go to thearapy? I hate to ask this of you, but could you break down the cost of the process? Ive always been super frugal and dont know if i can afford it and what not.

I did go to therapy for gender issues for about a year, most of that time was spend searching for a treating doctor.
Can't help you with the costs since I don't really know the costs other than my medications (like 10$ for 90 days holy shit I like my mother's insurance plan)

and this is why Obamacare will fail.

In countries with proper socialized healthcare systems, they have rationing. So that their costs don't run out of control and implode the whole thing.

Obamacare on the other hand. Is just going to keep increasing spending and the amount of money it costs everyone. Eventually the insurance companies are going to drop all the Obamacare plans and tell the government to go fuck it self. At which point, depending on party in charge of Congress and the President's Office. they'll either go full govenrment run single payer or we'll just go to how things were before Obamacare.

Not paying taxes? Right this way, ma'am.
>>
>>6206587
He thinks tax money goes towards paying for people's private insurance policies.

You do know people pay a monthly premium for insurance right, that or its benefits are included with their employment. YOU aren't paying for shit. Calm your tits.
>>

People on subsidized plans get tax credits and are not paying as much in income tax as they usually were.

The people put onto Medicaid by the expansion of it under Obamacare. They are costing us more in taxes.
>>

You forgot to add the costs of the treatments of the pozzed up chasers.

Are you stupid or do you just think your feels equal facts?
Healthcare costs were already skyrocketing out of control which is why healthcare reform was necessary.
"Obamacare" is far from perfect but has already been hugely successful in stabilizing the raising costs and getting most people covered so we can actually deal with the reality of healthcare and it's costs instead of trying to sweep the full cost under the rug and throw away money on lost economic productivity and expensive issues that could have been treated preventatively and cheaply.

Rationing is a function of a mismanaged system, it's not like there's a fixed amount of healthcare handed down by god and there will only ever be that amount so we can only pick and choose who to treat.
Medication production can be increased, doctors and specialists can be trained. There's a shortage of nurses right now and the solution is to incentivise and help train more nurses, not throw up your hands and say oh well I guess only one nurse per hospital.
