I'm not trying to be a dick here, but I wanted to point out one simple thing:
For those of you who think you're riding the wave of a new era of sympathy and support for the LGBTQZ community that will last forever and ever, you're wrong. Within a few decades, pretty much all of this stuff is going to be rolled back, for two reasons:
1) This is what has happened every single time that this stuff has ever become popular throughout history. Every single time.
2) The general public is turning against everything else that the left has been pushing for the past 30 years. LGBTQZ stuff will be turned against as well.
It's really just a matter of time. If you're lucky, it might not happen in your lifetime. But it will happen.
You're right. If we get complacent we're going to get fucked over, just like every other minority in history.
All we can do is not buy into anything and trust in ourselves and our abilities to see us through the coming lean times, just like during every other time in history when this has happened.

Nah. The public has turned against the left when it comes to economic policies, though they've turned against the economic far-right too. For better or worse, economic centrism will be the future. On social issues, though, people are increasingly becoming more tolerant all the time.
