If you like campy shit, TOS will make you happy. It has legitimately good episodes, but most people are put off by the set design and the old-style acting.
If you don't like camp, TNG is still a little campy, but it's tone is a tiny bit more serious.
Once you finish TNG (whether or not you watched TOS), you can move onto DS9 and Voyager, if you want. Enterprise should be watched last.

I'd also suggest you try Enterprise too, it tends to get a lot of stick but I quite like it, its nice as they are the first human starship to venture out into space and meet all the new species.
There is no prime directive either, so they wind up interfering with all these prewarp civilisations too.
It also goes into great depth to explain the very early Vulcan/Human relationship, which is coarse to say the least.
Eventually an actual plotline come s through in season three, I shan't wish to spoil it for you but this tends to be where it makes or breaks the series for most people. I personally also enjoyed this part as they have to explore the Delphic(?) Expanse, which is an extremely dense sector of space where a whole array of strange things occur. I can't go much more into it though or else I'll wind up dropping huge spoilers.
But yeah, I'd recommend it too, that was a serious nerd post!

I saw myself in a four corner machine, like a high speed elevator, I saw three angelic beings in the elevator with me, but they were all silent, the machine began travelling at a tremendous rate of speed, I heard the sound from outside, just ‘whooossshhh’, like a very strong wind and I heard sound like of water falling, yet there wasn’t any water in view. Suddenly I saw myself flying in the midst of heaven, the place was full of God’s light, I saw white clouds and what looked like white mist, just as I was flying in the atmosphere, when I passed it, I saw spectacular scenery.
