I'd also like to understand how people know who they are and if they'd like to under go drastic hormonal change before theyre fully mentally developed at ~25 years.

Anyway, not trans, but I read his story a while ago. I do think he's only drawing on his own experiences. Transition may not have been right for him, but he's over generalizing by saying that all trans people are only trans because of trauma. I don't think we'll know exactly what causes someone to be trans for a while, but I highly doubt it's simply trauma.

That still doesn't make sense. You know you can connect to your phone's network through your computer, right? There's no reason to use your phone instead of your computer for posting a picture of something on your computer screen, even if you needed to use the phone network's IP address for some reason instead of your usual computer's IP address you could still do that just by connecting to your phone network on your computer.
Read about his story. Walter was sexually abused by his grand mother and forcefully feminized/socialized.
His case actually makes a greater statement about the fact gender identity is innate rather than learned. Even through traumatic, conditioning, forced female socialization, his gender still came through.

I think he drew from his own experience. If I recall correctly, he thinks the fact his mother dressed up in girl's clothes made him think he would want to be a girl. Ernest Hemingway is also thought to be a repressed tranny by some because:

If only I had been dressed up by my parents as a girl when I was a child like Walt and Ernest, I would have gladly accepted it and enjoyed it. The opposite was true, things related to gender were too restrictive, though not as bad as some stories from other trannies on this board.

He may be "right" with regards to his own personal experiences, but those experiences are not a statistical argument about the effectiveness of transition as a whole.
He thought he wanted something and he either regretted it or suppressed it. That doesn't give him the right to tell others how they should live their lives.
