The legislature is taking net neutrality in the wrong direction, trying to classify it as a public utility. Doing that doesn't foster innovation. There's no motivation for companies to improve a system when they can't sell it how they wish to. This is why Americans still think that 5mbps "broadband" is an acceptable standard when a gypsy shithole like Romania has 25+ on average.

Do I think that Netflix and the like should be throttled to gutter-tier internet? No. But I also know that streaming is the future, and there will be competitors who will aim to provide a quality ISP to provide to streamers. So now there's incentive for the big company who wants to throttle streaming to improve their service in order to keep their customer base.

No, it's cause of fucking corporate greed and the oligarchy. The companies have closed door meetings and decide to stay out of each other's way so that they can keep prices high and not do a goddamn thing to improve services, since you have only one option. Time Warner has a 96% profit margin. FUCKING 96 %!!! that is not a number possible by normal competitive business standards. It's the reason they get so pissed at google fiber, the only people not playing ball with them AND the only people actually innovating in the communications space.

>>

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/donald-trump-north-carolina-transgender-bathroom-law-election-2016/

He literally shifted his position on the law a day after his original statement. You'd have to be delusional to think that he'll actually do anything for transgender people once he becomes president.

>"I think that local communities and states should make the decision," he went on to say. "And I feel very strongly about that. The federal government should not be involved."

>"In other words, let the state decide," Hannity responded. "Kind of like your positions on education, give it back to the states."

>"Yeah, let them decide," Trump said. "Absolutely."
>>
>>6072667

Well what the bloody hell is a president supposed "to do" for transexuals.

You would think these people could not exist without constant investment in an endless parade of new legislation.

Things sure have changed. I remember when trans didn't want a damn thing to do with normie society and were happy to have dominion in their own cultural niche. Now their political reps never stop banging on the door wanting more shit in the mainstream.

And if I had to guess, its a crock for them just as much as it was for we homos who didnt need or want a damn thing and nonetheless got increasing animus because of a constant barrage of malcontents in the media claiming they represented us all.

Cheese and rice. You dont need an army of civil lawyers and lobbyists to secure happiness in your life. And little degrades ones intelligence and emotional health as using your own unique ego as a platform to masochisticly seek to suffer more and more percieved offenses and then use them to govern everything in your life from social politics to literally asking permission to use the bathroom.

This was the mistake we homos started making in the 90's as a departure from the radical days before. We let the main-streamers drag us into their white-washed lawyer driven world and got mired in a lot social shit nobody really wanted anything to do with.

It made us all look like weak whiners, taking every petty slight to court instead of just fighting the battles where they occurred. It was cultural castration so this white wash shit could continue.

In the old days, trannies understood femininity in a more modern, egalitarian way. They knew that being a woman was only part smiles and kindness. The other part was kicking men in the balls where they stood if they gave you any shit.

Now this culture of legal dependence is infecting them also. Its a trap, if you'll pardon the pun.

Whats sad is that I sense the same historical effacing of the angry battles of ideas of the nineties are being erased from trans history the same way the lawyer class did with gays. Most gays today have no idea that there were serious disagreements about just what the hell queer identity was and went through 20 years ago. They assume everything was done in court rooms and sponsored "protests" that always somehow looked more like street festivals.

All glory to his holy giant cock, greatly to be praised.

You can find his hot yet utterly bizarre porn at his xtube account, where he hosts compilations of his feminizing submissive gurls, femme-bois, traps etc. He also has the usual social media accounts, if you understand Persian.

His immortality is legend, as he was apparently 18 for some 7 years during the peak of his fame. Now he mostly just posts strange Vines, rants about global politics and the occasional tirade against Jews, Muslims and pretty much anyone who has ever been in Iranian politics, being convinced he was robbed of his noble title.

There's plenty of excuses. Like the fact this man knows literally nothing about any of this country works based on the policies he's proposed.

Who would be dumb enough to vote for him because he said one nice thing about trans people while belonging to the party that's trying to legislate us out of existence.
>>
>>6083005

And exactly how are they doing that?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but America has a much more conservative past than present, and on a liberal tear for a now.

And yet. trans have had history in the nation for quite a while going all the way back to at least the 40's.

So how exactly does 'legislating you out of existence work? If their were plenty of trans in the past, and in a more conservative time trans managed to grow to where it is today, how exactly does it work? What is the law that results in -poof- trans people leaving the realm of the extant? Where do they go?

The trend will be the same, but weaker. It will just be enough to peel off votes and invite a new generation before (or after) brainwashing. Here is where it is worth noting the difference between queers in politics and queer politics. The former is like anyone else, the latter makes their politics about a personal issue.

Trans is being deliberately changed, and again being aimed at youth. Todays trans are not like yesterdays; the modern narratives insist on cognitive dissonance at nearly every level.

Older trans have the experience to resist it. A remarkable aspect of trans is that to be distinguished as a female with the most efficacy, one follows conventional and traditionally recognizable gender traits. To wit, there is by definition an odd but distinct adherence to conservative themes in gender expression. You're not going to hear about many tomboy lesbians trapped in mens bodies.

So it is counter productive for them to completely divorce conservative ideas at every level. As abstruse as it may seem to modern ideas, there will always be a certain clarity married to trans ideas about gender, and I think from that, there will always be at least some sympathy for conservative ideas. They tend to be more traditional and pro-social. Homosex has survived through societies in various institutions but has had- and now indulges in- a departure from them. Trans dont really have that option and seem to demonstrate a certain fidelity to social mechanics, even when it means relinquishing self interest.-

- I would hate to see them give that up, and ultimately, I am not sure they are able without complicating their own world view. Its one thing to be a contradiction, but to be a contradiction to the contradiction simply creates a null value system. If we could get the SJW out of the way and get back to rational discourse about respect and personal freedom, I think trans will find conservative inspiration in numbers again.

'Trying' is the keyword here. Trans people have existed and continue to exist despite their attempts, they've just lived painful lives as social pariahs hiding in fear from the public's ire. You're delusional if you believe that social conservatives haven't tried time and time again to morally mandate us out of existence. Even today, the conservative establishment is still trying to do so despite their diminished socio-political power.

They've used every avenue possible to either exterminate us or make our lives so painful that we cannot openly exist in the real world. (partially why so many trans people are obsessed with going stealth and passing) Conversion therapy, ECT and lobotomies were all used on trans people as a means of supressing and erasing their identity. The Nazi's considered them no different from homosexuals and placed them in concentration camps. Today, in the U.S. there are conservative majority states that refuse to legally recognize transgender identies, even after sex reassignment. At one point in our history it was illegal to crossdress in public. Neo-cons and radical feminists dismantled our health care in the early 80s and placed a federal ban on coverage of any procedure related to sex reassignment or GID. "Trans panic" was and still is a legitimate defense in a court of law for killing a trans person. Men who kill transgender women are given lesser charges and shorter sentences for their crimes.

I could go on if you want me to. But history has clearly shown that in the majority of cases, transgender identities cannot peacefully coexist with socially conservative ideology. Even today, the current state of acceptance and tolerance pressures us out of one closet and into another.
>>
>>6082890
His videos are hot, but he does seem kind of deranged.
>>
>>6083670

I think he's probably good people. From what I can tell from his site, he had a rough childhood and the Iranian government screwed his dad over somehow; his link to his past seems sort of fractured and he never got over it. That Iran has a Muslim theocracy that is decidedly against homosex infuriates him, and he has a strong sense of historical national identity, and longs to see Persia as it was before Islam arrived.

He also has some cultural confusion in his sexual identity; he considers himself bisexual by Western definition, but the middle east wouldn't likely translate it that way, and just seem as a hyper-sexual male with a homosex vice. Our western terminology is actually the global and historical minority. Most of the world reserves the sexual minority view for males who take a consistent passive role towards men into adulthood. Men who take an active role and pursue females are indicted as having vice, but not actually any separate class.

Iirc, Japan classically referred to homosex with a colloquialism that translated as 'hobby'. As an innate state of being, this was typically reserved for various manifestations of trans.

Here in the new world, there have been culture clashes also, and battles for linguistic supremacy of ideas, "latin bisexuality" for example.

Presently, American leftists are trying to insert their terminology into Mexico, which isn't going well because to gain the appearance of numbers, it means calling men homosexual who dont see themselves that way and isnt supported by their historical culture. Again, we are the minority in the ideas that it is a state of being, not something you do, and encompasses any and all same-sex activity regardless of lifestyle or role.
>>
>>6083941

Put bluntly, modern western homosexual lexicon basically kidnaps individuality and seeks to fray details at every level, both culturally and logically, to create the appearance of numbers and instill a notion of lifelong permanence, inexorable biological mandate and creates numerous contradictions on the way, such as the same terms and explanations to address incidental or opportunist homosex from otherwise heterosexual males towards effeminate males as being the same as an effeminate homosexual towards masculine men, then further applies dubious and contradicting 'science'. Sadly, now that gay rights have pretty much been settled, they are not applying the same cacophony of ideas to trans, creating evermore contradictions of reason in homosexual youth, however you define it, and instilling a lot of misery and confusion on the way.

Irrational people with personal agendas are having a huge deleterious impact on the youth and their emotional health and soundness of mind, which they then blame the majority. Sadly, it is literally manufacturing insanity in youth and a host of mental health issues.

>transgender identities cannot peacefully coexist with socially conservative ideology

This becomes an interesting point if you would care to meaningfully and sincerely expound on how you view and/or define what conservative ideology is and whence it emanates.

Ostensibly, you appear to perceive an enemy in them. I am curious how you define that enemy, and where your values intersect with theirs and how you prioritize the self among the community; specifically the community of people who regenerate and build and keep communities through generations.

If I reduced what it sounds like you are saying to its bare skeleton, it sounds as though you are saying trans are born to make enemies to the people that have borne them. It would sound like it radicalism is the core of the moving force in trans identity, which is then, by definition of radicalism, anti-social.

There are more blunt ways to put it, but Im genuinely curious and don't want to sound rude.

Personally, I think there is balance and order. The problem, as I see it, is the false premise of egalitarianism as a mandate, which then insists that the interest of the self supersedes the order of the society, and that balance is the exact thing looked at as a threat, which then takes us back to anti-social values.

If you see the natural order as it has been through the entire span of human history as a threat to be deposed, then there are certain conclusions about the ultimate result that seem clear and self-evident

It then makes any balance the actual enemy of the radical insisting society must forsake it, and essentially seems to settle for nothing less than the destruction of the social order to achieve it with perpetual, endless calls to overtake said order until the very ruinous end

Its bigger than bathrooms. There is now a push to re-define male and female to mean the same thing, which is to say they mean nothing while insisting the terms are invoked to promote the very concept being annihilated.

trans people are born with a hormonal condition that causes them to feel gender dysphoria. transitioning helps to alleviate those feelings. it's a medical issue, stop overthinking it you pretentious twat.
>>
>>6084575
My point is that currently, transgender identities cannot exist with the existing tenets held by social conservatism. I'd be willing to speculate that conservative ideology in itself isn't necessarily the enemy but conservatives have made enemies of us long before we had any real opportunity to change anything about their precious social order. As I said, they've tried time and time again to erase us from existence and even today they're still trying to do so. Maybe if social conservative ideology included and accommodated trans people, there wouldn't be a conflict. It'd just be accepted as normal or okay and the ideology would carry on being it's fearful and self righteous self.

The problem is that transgenderism is poorly understood, and people naturally hate and fear what they cannot understand. It's natural, I get it but just because something is motivated by primal instincts doesn't necessarily mean it's right or logical. The moral panic we're seeing today is hardly any different from the panic we've seen time and time again when a minority pushes for tolerance and equality. It'll eventually pass and the world will just keep on spinning.

I'd hope that once progressives push transgenderism into mainstream tolerance, it'll eventually be accepted and included under the conservative umbrella. Conservatives are starting to accept and welcome gays into their ideology, maybe they'll eventually accept trans people. A collectivist ideology would certainly benefit in taking in as many people as possible and uniting them under a common goal.

Not to worry. If you agree with his other positions, you made no mistake. Let me give you the good news.

The net neutrality issue is a popular issue that crosses party lines. It will take a long time to be ultimately adjudicated and will eventually end up in SCOTUS, and there are powerful business interests who will defend it. The longer it takes, the better for net neutrality as people become informed.

Trump looks at it from a business view, but he isn't going to go against the will of the majority. Its hardly the sort of thing he would hang himself on in a re-election, which is the time frame we are talking about.

And here is better news: Its not the sort of thing he can really do anything on as an executive, even if he were committed to it. This will be an issue for SCOTUS, and there will a ton of litigation, SCOTUS may be a lot of things, but they aren't trigger happy with stuff like this.

I can guarantee Trump would evolve on it, even if the suspect he would. But I do know he isn't going to hang himself on it.

By comparison, remember that it was under Bush that homosex was decriminalized nationally. It would be a misunderstanding to think that this is an issue where Trump has a lot of interest or influence.

If you agree with his other positions, you are just fine. If you want assurance that net neutrality can remain intact, rest assured that your efforts and efforts by others have not only every chance of winning, but a much, much better chance of Trump ever taking it away even *if* he were that interested and suicidal enough in a re-election to hang himself on it.

Have a great day, and I hope you feel much better about making a good choice for America.

He doesn't give a shit about net neutrality and it doesn't effect any of his current goals or plans.

This is a good thing because it means he will go with the will of the people because it increases his popularity and costs him nothing.

>American should have the best internet, were gonna make amazing deals with the internet and we will make the American internet great again.

Trump is a business man. He has no tech knowledge and no political ideology beyond 'America First'. He will get the best expert he can find on the issue and let him or her do the what ever they want.

Read 'The Art of the Deal', it is all in there.

Trump is a textbook narcissist and habitual liar. He says whatever he can to get power and prestige. But keep thinking that he'll ever put anyone or anything in front of his own ego, desu.
>>
>>6087958

Wrong. he doesn't want power, he already has power and money. He wants a great legacy.

He wants to be the greatest President in the last hundred years. He wants to be remembered in the history books as an amazing person. He wants his face carved on Mount Rushmore.

This is a GOOD thing for the American people.

This is difficult for me to address because terms like social conservative can mean different things. For example, my personal views are socially conservative but I ultimately expel those views from my politics, leaning to libertarianism; that government is not a place to decide morality or personal freedom. I believe that social conservatism is good, but to be decided by local communities. I also dont believe that is has a place in law, one way or the other beyond protection from abuse. By the same token, I dont favor forcing businesses and private groups to accept things they dont feel appropriate for them.

Lets take the bathroom issue, since it is contemporary. I dont understand what the endpoint is in trans liberation, if we are calling it that. I dont believe the solution is law to force anyone to conduct practices that make the public uncomfortable, yet we know there will eventually be lawsuits to do that very thing. Likewise, there is this asinine legislation to defend private groups from those very lawsuits, which trans naturally interpret as a pre-emptive attack on them. Either way, we can't seem to keep law out of it.

It naturally makes one wonder how trans have dealt with it up till now. Moreover, what is the acceptance sought, does it have an end? Its hard to say grasp that trans want to be accepted like everyone else when choices about how to present themselves clearly reject approval by a majority as a concern, and being like everyone else is decidedly not what moves them. One considers the logistics of a 'third' or unisex bathroom, which would be impossible for many small businesses that have group bathrooms.-
>>
>>6088301

- Which drives us to ask what trans actually want? Is it really a bathroom, which could just be a third unisex bathroom, or is it really a push to use the existing bathroom norms to insist they be included as one gender or the other? Then there is the personal issue of 'passing' which is delicate, because trans who pass are not likely to be noticed either way. At the same time, what are we supposed to tell trans, that while in dress, they must use the mens room? Clearly that isn't fair to anyone either.

I dont think its a matter of law beyond protection from abuse, nor do I think trans must be subject to embarassment where each place decideds how a non-passing trans should be addressed on such a personal biological issue. Neither trans nor the public want to create a shameful spectacle where an ad hoc comittee has to be held or permission requested for a personal function.

For this reason, to exclude government, I think a strategy might simply be cultural change at the community level. You have to get out there and sell it, get into the community and show humility and respect, endear and win the public. It wont win you instant results, but it forces people to be accountable for their position. Respect and civility must remain a priority not just on the trans side, who must feel some empathy for the feelings of both cis sexes, but for business owners also, who must take responsibility for the comfort and cordial kindness and descent treatment of all patrons.-

As the culture shifts and new construction grows, where necessary or sought, you should see attitudes change. At which point, you have the benefit of equal law on your side, because it will cease to be a rushed SJW issue being rammed down peoples throat in a culture war, but rather the much more banal expectation that trans people should be protected from policy and practice that torments them as a class, including the basic use of facilities. By trying to force it quickly through law, you end up with the same animus we homosexuals got from being pushy about telling the majority how they should see this or that. It wasn't legal victories that got us the meager acceptance we have, it was the parallel, decades long cultural campaigns to show the majority that we werent monsters and boogeymen, to show our humanity.

These are just my thoughts. Thank you for your thoughtful input and sharing your views. I hope I equally helped advance the discussion in a civil way. It has, as I said, forced me to articulate positions and made me think how it affects others different than me.

Have a great evening.

This is interesting in an academic way but not really relevant to Trump, because he isn't an ideological conservative, he's a nationalist.

It turns out that a large number of Republicans don't actually oppose LGBT issues, they don't oppose social programs, they don't give a shit about free trade, they are just nationalists.

No political group loves you for who you are, they are only alliances of interests. At one point the Democrats were openly lynching black people and the KKK were the military arm of the Democratic party, they changed because they wanted votes.

The entire Republican party changing right now. It is splitting itself down the middle on this election, it is ridding itself of the religious wing and neo-con warhawk wing.

Emerging triumphant is the Jacksonian wing. People who support LGBT rights as long as those LGBT people are part of their base. They want strong social programs for their base, they want nation cohesion, a strong border and unification. MAGA!

Why do MAGAfags always use kawaii anime girls in their propaganda? The fuck is American about shit that was drawn by Japs or weeaboos.

Using images like that screams "I'm a sexually frustrated teenager or young adult who idolizes imaginary 2D babes" and makes me take you less seriously. It's also vaguely smug for some reason.

I wonder why Bernouts never use imagery like that. Or maybe I'm just not paying attention. Their style of discourse seems to contain way less meme imagery, or at the very least they construct their own memes instead of taking existing art and shopping their agenda onto it. But feel free to prove me wrong.

>I'm guessing this is satire.

No, it is motivation. You can always trust someone to follow their own goals at the expense of others.

Hilary wants power and money, she is part of the political elite and indebted to them. She will put their interests and goals above all else because that serves her goals.

Trump already has power and money, he wants a historical legacy. To get this he has to be remembered fondly and do great things for the American people. He has no special interest groups he needs to serve and cannot be bribed.

Trumps ego and goals make him reliable in a way that Hilary is not.

Because internet Trump supporters come from 'the alt-right' which is based on chan culture.

Because internet Bernie supporters are all sjw's who post on Tumblr and Reddit.

So you unironically defended the allegation that "Trump is a textbook narcissist" with "[Trump] wants his face carved on Mount Rushmore".

I'm so fucking done. I hate to go all "are you kidding me" on this but at this point I feel like it would be like trying to explain why 1 + 1 = 2. I can't even be mad. I'm just done.

I don't see this as an adequate answer to be honest. It's still backwards as fuck to use Japanese culture to promote pro-American sentiment.

>Because internet Bernie supporters are all sjw's who post on Tumblr and Reddit.
Without being a regular of Tumblr or Reddit, how would you even know, one way or the other? This seems like someone else's opinion that you're regurgitating.

I'm sorry you are too stupid to understand my post, I will try to break it down for you.

You claim that Trump is an egotist and narcissist and that is bad because he will not put anything above this.

I say Trump is a egotist and narcissist and this is good, because he wants to be remembered as a great President and will not put anything above this.

Hilary is owned by her special interests, she will sell out America and go to war in the Middle East because it serves the purpose of her backers.

Trump has no backers, he will not allow anyone's interests to be placed above his own. And he wants to be a historic President, to achieve this he has to place the interests of the American people above those of the financial and political elite.

His ego makes him reliable.

>>6088871
>It's still backwards as fuck to use Japanese culture to promote pro-American sentiment.

You only think that because you are so racist. The majority of Anons are capable of appreciating Korean wood carvings and still being patriotic.

>You claim that Trump is an egotist and narcissist
No I didn't, that was someone else.

>and that is bad because he will not put anything above this
That's roughly the nature of narcissism, yes.

>I say Trump is a egotist and narcissist and this is good
"His personality disorder is a virtue" is basically what I'm reading.

>because he wants to be remembered as a great President and will not put anything above this
I would argue that sometimes a President should make calls that might be unpopular if it means serving the greater good. If Trump is making decisions in terms of whether or not they make him look good, as opposed to whether or not those decisions *are* good, then that can lead him to make bad decisions.

It also means that when his ego is challenged, he's liable to be unstable.

Simply put, a narcissist has limited empathetical abilities and places their own self-aggrandizement above all else... The idea that this is the kind of person you want running the country is laughable.

The fact that you don't deny, but gladly acknowledge that he has these glaring personality flaws, but rationalize them as virtuous, is deeply alarming.

>Hilary is owned by her special interests,
I never mentioned Hillary one way or the other. Why do you bring her up?

>His ego makes him reliable.
That's...the opposite of what it makes him. A narcissist has a warped perception of himself and reality. That makes him somewhat of a loose cannon, not a stable person anchored in their principles.

>I'm sorry you are too stupid to understand my post
I think I did understand it, I just couldn't imagine someone could be so stupid, naive, misguided, and yet utterly sincere about it.

I think you're just a good troll though. I mean it's some high level trolling, I'll admit, you're basically playing dumb-but-sincere to paint Trump voters as total morons. I get it, I've done that before.
