It varies by what area you are in and the officer you are dealing with.
One time I had an interceptor car follow me like literally two feet off my rear tyre on my bike for miles, I thought fuck it then and just races it away from them around corners when they couldn't see me. Then this asshole would come storming up my ass again pissed off because I was racing it around corners and he couldn't prove it.
Another time I got pulled over with my mate and they were asking us what we were up to, so we said we were going back to mine, which was literally like five doors down the street, but this time the guy was cool because he was into bikes too and let us off.
Then another time me and my friend got arrested and thrown in the cells because we found this classic bike that had been nicked and dumped in a petrol station. It had been there like six months. I rang the DVLA and asked what to do, they said ring the police, so I called them... They said ring the DVLA. So we just took it, sure enough someone calls the police and bam. I had the interview and that and told her about all the bikes we buy and fix up, we literally wanted to fix the thing and give it back to owner. So I asked her what they are doing with the bike and she said "oh well he can collect it within a week and pay the impound fee or we will scrap it". So I just told her to flush herself.
The guy doing the interview was clearly new to the job and they just pushed for the arrest, the solicitor said I should have taken them to court over it because they had no case against me.
But yeah, now I've got theft of a motor vehicle on me for life.
