Mine was the same, though with bottles and bags and boxes all over too. If you want to get into the gundam the original series, mobile suit gundam, is the best place to start. the animation and everything about it is old as dirt though, and it really shows. if you can stomach that, then its genuinely one of the best sci fi animes out there, up there with stuff like legend of the galactic heroes. if you cant stomach it then there are compilation movies that are still good and slightly better looking. after that the options go on forever. if you just want some gundam styled mech action then gundam 00 is a good one instead, it takes place in an alternate universe thing and has nothing to do with the main series/timeline.
