They are trained professionals, probably most of them over 40 years old, with families and children back on earth. They don't, so to speak, fuck around.
Also, a miscommunication up there could cause death or the loss of very expensive equipments.
I'm pretty sure anyway their code of ethics forbids them from doing so, respect of the mission, of colleagues and such.
