When I was in college are lgbt group was almost completely dominated by the type that use words like "lithsexual" who basically chased all the gays and lesbians away, and most of the people that remained were either part of the leadership, from said group, or me (mtf) and my two actually ftm friends/roomates.
Eventually we formed our own group explicitly for trans people, that was eventually dominated by afab NBs (but at least they were pretty cool, nice, and laid back AFAB nbs)
Eventually my two ftm friends stopped going (one for anxiety reasons, the other because he had started to be abusive towards me) and it was just me with all the afab NBs who basically looked like they could just be lesbians (they didnt present masc particularly) but it was okay, cause they were pretty cool people.

Let me add that I think a big thing that FtMs mess up about being men is that they think "men just are" that it requires no work or effort. Because lets be honest being a woman requires very little effort. Almost all your value comes from the body and face you are born with. The celebrated personality traits are easy to develop (submission, silliness, basically the qualities of children that we all learn as children).
