>>
Cis guy here with a request.

Hello, thread. I'm not a native speaker and would like to know which accent is more becoming of me.

AmE: https://clyp.it/0jjrczg2

BE: https://clyp.it/s4a4uewq

The above one is how I regularily speak. But I can pretty much switch the way I speak English on the fly, and I do too often. I just want to sound acceptable, and would like to know which one of those two suits my voice better.

>>5718901
Acceptable. But drop the falsetto and raise your voice naturally. Good luck

>>5719364
Yeah, no. Not at all. If you're an mtf, don't use the falsetto. Your main problem is that your falsetto is bad, not that falsetto is universally bad.

Your natural voice is p sexy though.
>>
>>5715010
You weren't kidding when you said you sound 12. Are you 12?

>>5717133
Why don't you post yours?

>>5718901
B is slightly too low and A sounds strained.

>>5719364
No pass. Sounds falsetto.

>>5719662
I rarely hear BE speakers, so I can't offer a fair comparison. Your AmE accent sounds fine, though.

i've been getting clocked less since i posted in that other thread.. i think it has to do with confidence i guess.

i hope my voice sounds as good on my laptop mic though ;~;

normal gay little male voice: http://vocaroo.com/i/s1zS7g52j4Uh

female voice: http://vocaroo.com/i/s1Jp83qyIMpq

>>5715010
i would kill a man for your voice

>>5713483
sounds like any girl i would find on the street. good job.

>>5717961
you're going wayyyyyyyy too high. i was doing this when i first started out too. i only realized that even girls can have deeper voices when i was sitting in a class and a girl who's voice was deeper than my male voice still sounded more feminine than my female voice.

don't focus so much on raising the pitch, but try to imagine speaking out of your eyeballs and a /slightly/ higher pitch.

i hope this helps :S

>>5718901
B is pretty bad. A is a good start though. sounds like you're being waaaaaay too nasally and forced though.

>>5720003
this is not the worst thing in the world, but again i think you are focusing too much on the pitch and everything else is worse because of it. see what i said about two posts above this.

yeah. i mean even though my male voice is relatively feminine, i still get called a 16 year old boy more often that not. every time i use my voice and hear 'maam' or 'lady' or whatever, i get a bit more confident.

also your voice is good, but maybe try just a tiny bit higher? everything else sounded pretty fem though.

>>5720431
>you girls

it doesn't matter what your voice sounds like, i immediately picuture a hon in my head when people say stuff like this. please avoid phrases like this at all costs.
>>
>>5720461
Maybe youre just dumb? I hear cis women refer to groups of friends as 'girls' all the time

>>

Sorry miss autismo ill make sure to read up on your obscure hon triggers :^]
>>
>>5720538
i'm not triggered or anything. i'm just telling you that if you go out saying shit like that, unless you unmistakably pass as cis, people are going to picture that classic hon in their head while looking at you.

there is a reason this is a phrase that the people in mtfg use when pretending to be a hon and posting those hon pictures from reddit.
>>
>>5720461
>also your voice is good, but maybe try just a tiny bit higher? everything else sounded pretty fem though.

Thank you for your input. Is this better?

I dunno if that's cause I've been desensitized by other trans voices, or if it's cause you're actually passing, but either way you sound cute. Also, high quality laugh. You should sing.
>>
>>5721490
Oh, thank you! I might sing, I think I'll wait for a bit and see if anybody else thinks I should before I go through with it.

It's a real confidence booster though, to think my voice might pass, because it's normally waaaaaay deeper than that, and I got worried I'd never be able to escape that

Since I got feedback, I might as well return the favor.

>>5713473
The pitch is ok, but you seem to be using the lower parts of your throat while speaking. Try projecting sound using mostly your upper throat-mouth region, it really helps.

>>5713483
You sound good to me ^-^

>>5714033
I honestly hope you are joking. If not, see my above advice.

>>5714056

>>5714867
Sounds good to me. Nice job with your accent too, it's noticeable, but clearly understandable.

>>5715010
I honestly envy your voice

>>5716783
If MtF you pass with flying colors. If FtM, try using the lower parts of your throat when speaking. It can be difficult to do at first, but with practice it brings out a deep, manly sound.

>>5716985
Like the first one, your pitch is good, but you are using lower parts of your throat when speaking. I'll give you the same advice as her.

>>5718901
So with B, you just need to up your pitch a little, and use your upper throat just a bit more.

With A, you don't sound bad, but focus on your range, and see how high/low you can get while maintaining that voice.

>>5719856
hot/10, would Netflix and chill. If FtM, you did amazing.

>>5719987
You remind me of me. I don't know if that's a good thing. Let's just say it is.

>>5720003
I've heard cis women who sound like you. A bit loud and harsh, but I'd say you pass.

>>5720387
I literally envy both voices, as they both pass. I wish I had your pitch ;_;

>>5720461
If MtF, pass.

>TL;DR
All I can give for general advice is this: When speaking or singing, you can control what part of your throat the sound is produced from, with practice. If you want to sound more manly, you use lower parts of your throat. If you want to sound more girly, use higher parts.

All of this advice is from my own practice however, so there is a chance I could be wrong. I am by no means a trainer, so I'd advise you see one rather than rely on me.

>>5717961
I like the accent. It sounds alright to me.

>>5722066
You have good song tastes, seem pretty dang chill, and I think you could pass. You have a kinda deep voice, but instead of sounding male you just end up sounding more "woman" than "girl".

Reminder that when what you hear doesn't match what you see, the brain tends to believe the eyes more than the ears (An example of this is the Stroop effect) so if you look female and sound androgynous, you will sound female.
>>
>>5723923
>You have good song tastes, seem pretty dang chill, and I think you could pass.

Thank you, it really means a lot to me ^.^

>You have a kinda deep voice, but instead of sounding male you just end up sounding more "woman" than "girl".

Yeah, I feel lucky I can even pass as a "woman", to be honest. For the longest time I was afraid my naturally deep voice would make it impossible to pass.

It's waaaay deeper when in boymode though, it's really bad
>>
>>5722066
I'm not a very good singer, but you complimented my voice, so I feel obligated to do this for you;
http://vocaroo.com/i/s0VhzECwPARx

You have a nice voice. I'd say you pass, but you sound a tad nervous. Is that normal for you?
>>
>>5723947
Yeah, I'm generally a nervous person, always have been. I takes me a while to get used to things, but once I settle down I can be pretty chill.

Also, your singing voice isn't too bad. I would say it trembles just a bit, but you seem to be on-key. And I would hold the notes down just a bit longer. Other than that, you sound like the next Sinatra.

And thank you, by the way :3 you sound like a handsome guy, I'm sure you put a lot of work into your voice

I might record some more singing later on, when I get more privacy. Also it's super cold today, so my voice as all shaky right now
>>
>>5723982
That's just my natural voice, but I have put effort into going into higher pitches when I was younger because I wanted to sound like Bruce Dickinson and Ronnie James Dio. Suffice to say, I'm not very good at it!

Right? It's freezing by me right now here in Jersey. How long did it take you to perfect your voice? You stated you had a deeper voice when you were a male.
>>
>>5724001
I literally just started putting effort into changing my voice yesterday. And I wouldn't say I perfected it, not by any means. I'm just trying to get advice and stuff so I can tweak it and hopefully make it sound more natural.

And yeah, the cold as a total bitch. I hate shoveling snow, though we get a lot of it here in Mass.

So for now I'll just snuggle in my blankets and play vidya till things warm up haha
>>
I feel like I'm getting the hang of this, but I need confirmation and/or critical feedback.

https://clyp.it/xsrgkhf3
>>
>>5724009
That's impressive if you just started. I don't know much about vocal training, but you seem to have done an amazing job to me if your voice really is deep when in boy mode. Yeah, I don't things are warming up any time soon sadly. Gonna be fuckin' cold until April.
>>
>>5724054
I hate my voice literally every time I post here. It sounded so good the first take, but I fucked up.
>>
>>5724054
Your pitch is perfect, I would just recommend projecting your voice from a little higher up your throat. Other than that, I really envy what you've done already.

>>5724061
Well, I have messed with my voice before, I just haven't tried doing anything girly with it until now. I guess that kind of practice pays off, eh?

I'll be ready for the cold, I just hate it soooo much
>>
>>5724070
I actually thought my range was a little lower than it could have been. Timbre was definitely off (I can never get pitch and timbre to match perfectly, it's soooo hard) but pitch was weird.

I've been singing along with vocaloid and happy hardcore for like three years, so my range is huge.

As far as yours goes, your voice definitely sounds tired. Take a break, and do some medium-light work on it every day when you're driving or something. Push your range. I might recommend trying to sing along with artists like Halsey and Veela for a while, then pushing higher. It takes time. It doesn't matter if you sound good right away, just try to push for it until you feel comfortable with that range.
>>
>>5724070
Sorry for the late response. Add me on Skype (MelpoeC). You seem like someone who'd be fun to speak with. If not, brace the cold. I will as well.
>>
>>5724103

so what's the secret of sounding like a WOMAN instead of effeminate/underaged fag? I can do high pitched voice but it just sounds laughable
>>
http://vocaroo.com/i/s1ivigdrspRF

I need to fix my endings
>>
>>5728961
It has less to do with pitch, and more to do with where in your throat you project your voice.

The higher up the throat, the more feminine you sound. I tend to stress the upper throat/lower mouth region when speaking, and that brings out that you heard on my recordings.

If you want it to be womanly, I guess just use a moderate pitch, and stress a slightly lower point in your throat than the region I previously described. Just practice, record, tweak, repeat, until you are pleased with it.
>>
>>5728968
Not bad, not bad at all. I'd say you are just a bit harsh with your voice, as in you are a tad too loud, but other than that, I think you did a great job.
>>
>>5728961
Its all in the resonance, anon. If you try and raise your pitch while still projecting from your chest it won't work. It's also the reason why a lot of cisgirls still sound like girls when they try to drop their voice. They're still projecting from their head.

kinda like so

Heres some more

I do weird cartoon voices too
>>
>>5731005
>>5731085
Well you have an impressive pitch, definitely. I would work on softening the voice a bit, but other than that I can't see how it shouldn't pass
>>
>>5731288
So I've been practicing a lot, and here's where my voice is at now, if anybody could judge the fuck out of it for me

>>
>>5732006
Well you still sound good
>>
>>5731381

This one is OK. It's sounds a little off. Not bad really. Just off if that makes sense. Like a Paris Hilton impersonation.
>>
>>5732063
Well, gotta keep working on it then. Thank you for the feedback

top k-kek am I right guys

Sounds like an improvent to me, especially the parts where its more melodic (I guess that's where you put more breath into it) and less rushed and 'screechy'

pretty good, I like the second one better, sounds more natural

>>5734448
gg and Russian?
>>
>>5732302

You sound so nice. You don't have a "gay" voice or anything not that that's a bad thing.

>>5720582 cute! very well done sounds mature(?)

Thanks!
>>
>>5734509
The second one is me trying to do a guy voice in my girl voice, so like low pitch but femme resonance.
>>
>>5734547
maybe cause I've listened to many of 'trying hard to sounds like a little girl' so the first one feels forced and constricted and I don't imagine a girl speaking like that, while the second one is more natural and I could easily picture in my mind it being spoken by a female
>>
>>5734586
I used to think I was going to high but struggled to really find a pitch that I liked otherwise. I've been playing a lot of games with what sounds like cis girls and they actually all have pretty high sounding voices like that so now I'm not so sure if it is too high to be artificial sounding.

What can I do to improve?
>>
r8 my voice.
http://vocaroo.com/i/s1Qvx5HVKLXj
Would you take a penis from that voice?
>>
>>5735306
I'd have to hear it first to decide. Which I can't hear it.
>>
>>5735227
Sounds very convincing.

>trying to do femalish voice for few hrs
>throat dies
damn
>>
>>5735505
Did you listen all the way through or stop after the few seconds of silence at the start?
>>
I know I've already done it here, but I'm way prouder of this than I should be, and MascGen probably is going to ignore it because they just want to run off with their mistress.
