Society has kind-of come full circle. South Park was born out of an angry reaction to the moral-majority censor-violence-sex-and-swearing-for-the-children attitudes of the late 80's and early-mid 90's.
At some point the moral guardians got old and tired of fighting the same battles, and that same society and culture has morphed from a fuck-em-all lack of empathy or even reaction to ever-increasing amounts of offensive shit, to the current trigger-warning we'd-better-not-offend-the-tranny-in-the-room self-censorship.
It's basically no different than prudishness, just with a different set of values and a little less grounded in reality. The main point is, however, that Matt and Trey aren't living in the same world as they did when they started South Park, and they're not going to get an audience by doing the same shit they did ten years ago, but they still need to put out episodes.

And the message of the OP's quoted episode (if that's what we're talking about) is more about people outright ignoring/being offended by reality and ending up being completely intolerant of even relatively faint disagreements. It's something I see a lot in activist (and, even moreso, slacktivist) circles where any bit of information that doesn't fit this pre-conceived narrative of who the enemy is and what they're doing wrong is shouted down and treated like a trigger. It doesn't even have to be as harsh as Trey and Matt's "reality" antihero, it just has to clash with some strongly held viewpoint, however minute, and people will duck and cover and be patted on the back for it. It's a hindrance to any kind of meaningful action when you can't even analyze ideas critically as a group. Trey & Matt are far away from that, but I think they touched on it.

Well, no. I'm not a Libertarian. Trey and Matt are, and they've admitted it and the "morals" that occasionally get explained at the end of an episode are 9/10 times going to have some blatant socially liberal-right wing tie in.
For instance:
The Boy Scouts episode? Pushing an argument that excluding gays is wrong, but the Boy Scouts being a private organization should not be forced by the public to change its policy. That's clearly a libertarian viewpoint, because it acknowledges that homosexuality is not inherently wrong but only sees the Boy Scouts as a private organization and doesn't acknowledge any difference it may have from other ones.
The episode about Mr. Tweek's coffee shop versus the larger coffee chain? It plainly asserts that the chain's success is out of its producing a superior, more efficient product. That's a very libertarian view of the market which presumes that in such a competition everyone is even and the larger chain would die if it weren't simply better. I think that's absurd, but still obviously their message.
And in pretty much any episode where private property/economics hold pretty central roles, they're usually completely unsubtle. The most surprising one I've seen in recent years is probably the Trayvon one, where their position was atypical of the right-libertarian stance at the time.

I meant in the CONTEXT OF WANTING TO HAVE KIDS. As far as reproduction is concerned, a transgender woman is just like any other infertile woman. There are reasons why one should be open about being trans, but they have nothing to do with reproduction. So yes, you can call trans people horrible for not being open about it, but don't use reproduction as an argument why they should come out.
