Yes, a lot, especially over distance. Dyspraxia makes it very difficulty to exercise effectively so even though I swim 2 hours a night, 3-4 nights a week, my cardiovascular fitness is like that of a 30-stone shut-in and I can't jog or even walk for any appreciable distance, meaning I'll have to live close to wherever I work, or vice versa, which is part of why I want to claim benefits, 'cause I might have to either take a shitty job in the countryside that doesn't cover the basics, or live in an expensive house in the centre of the city to work a reasonable job. In addition I'm wheezing and have to lie down on the landing by the time I reach the top of the 30 or so stairs up to my lecture rooms at uni. Stairs are probably toughest day-to-day. This is also because aside from the cardiovascular aspect, my muscles not working properly and my movements not being efficient and correct means my body's tiring itself out more than is normal that way, too. The hypotonia aspect also means my joints are pretty unstable and if I do anything more of a brisk walk sometimes my right knee (it's worse in the right side of my body, as you can see in that video of me waving I always post) twists sidewards and buckles under my weight. One of my big fears in employment and why I've been trying to sort out the disability stuff before getting a job is I don't want to dislocate a knee or a shoulder or something doing a simple menial task most would be fine with. SRS was a very unpleasant experience, but a worthwhile one. Like, in terms of the pain involved, it's easily the most painful experience that I've had to date. Oxycodone was ineffective, I had to be put on hydromorphone to dull the pain.
The worst of recovery took about 2 months, and there's a lot of detail I could share about that, but only if you want. I had my surgery through Brassard.

So far as I can tell the pain involved is very much dependant on the individual and how well their pain is controlled. Like, another person I went through with didn't have her pain controlled well at all, and she was pretty much screaming and in tears. I was fine when my pain was controlled, but there was a period where the anaesthesia was wearing off and I was only on hydrocodone that was downright terrifying.
