i thought i wanted to be a girl for the first 6 years of being out and transitioning. and while i don't hate it, there's also nothing particularly special about it. i have most of the same personal problems i had before re: dysphoria and depression, the only difference is the pronouns are different and people treat you somewhat differently. i decided that whatever gender i see myself as isn't really that important. there are advantages to passing as a girl sometimes, but i also kind of miss just being a cute boy sometimes and not having to live with a ridiculous amount of anxiety about passing the right way.
