Naturally, this seemed to lead to a lot of contradictions.
I stopped using the term bisexual because it just seemed to be a trigger for arguments.
Now if I need a brief label, I just say gay, even if I dont really identify that way, its simple for conversation. More accurately, I like guys, and I greatly prefer them, so it all sorts out.
It wasn't until later I really re-visited the whole construct of sexual identity and decided that it was both too convoluted to be useful, especially to me, and entirely contrived fiction based on useless premise assumptions. I decided there were just males, and males could be different.
In the end, I decided that the biggest myth ever sold about sexual identity is that you had to have one.
Its not that I dont see the usefullness of labels when one wants to unite their sexual interest with a social identity. Its just the latter part of that never seemed useful.
But as a state of being, I just dont buy into it. I have encountered so many variants that classification is pointless. It assumes categories and insists such grouping is necessary.
I always thought, of all people, the CDC figured out the best terminology. They needed useful terms and 'gay' had too much baggage attached to distinctions, so they simply went with MSM, men who have sex with men.
It strips away all the identity and arguments and leaves standing the only thing that is relevant in clarity- some men have sex with males sometimes, or a lot or never. So there can be many reasons why that range from opportunity to attraction, but in the end, they are all just different types of men.
And to me, that explains a lot, much more simply.

To me, guys are straight if they prefer females. It doesnt matter to me if they top gays sometimes incidentally. They still have a straight lifestyle with all its issues. For example, if they get drunk and shag a fat girl, I wouldnt assume they are somehow genetically into fat girls.
The only exception is the ONLY thing they are into is guys. Then I dont see what difference the sexual role makes, because they are not living a hetero lifestyle.
I was about to rant about how the standards of what is considered straight as a virtue have deteriorated, but I'll digress.
Its not important to me what they do occasionally. I just feel they have really lowered their standards for what they normally do so much.
I bristle at the fact that 'straight' is still called a morally superior lifestyle and excuses losers who wont marry or have kids or commit to family, and puts them in the same camp as men who commit, work hard to make a family and sacrifice a lot in youth to make a better community for tomorrow.
