lol , I wasn't sure what was happening most of that video but yes IS has taken Shaer gas field.

IS is coming out from the Hama/Homs border region hard as fuck. The SAA/Ruskies should realize IS isn't going to go away this time. Not with Deir Ezzor being threatened.

Egypt and Yemen did not have armed uprisings??
Furthermore, Syria may not have had an armed uprising had Assad acted as Mubarak. Would it be for the best of the country? I don't know.

>They are also, in general, US allies.
Exactly, you shoot the arrows and then paint the target. You CHOOSE to only examine non US allies that were effected by the Arab spring, and then theorize that it only makes sense that the CIA instigated the uprisings.

>But America and allies rolled with it and actively subverted/intervened in the countries that were not our allies
Actually the Obama administration has subverted and intervened in Egypt as well, and perhaps in Tunisia and others. Egypt is distancing itself from the US for a good reason, they were betrayed.

>Do you actually think the CIA and other groups did not have a hand in the current situation in the ME?
No, as was said, the CIA/Obama rolled with the revolutions and helped most of them, overtly they said it was for democracy... what was the real purpose? hard to say, but the results were the strengthening of the Islamist across the ME...

Israel has bombed Hezballah arms shipments From Syria to Lebanon. Something that affects them directly, but not the Syrian civil war.

Quit acting like 3-4 bombings on weapons convoys a year are significant in the results of the civil war.

Israel is not bombing the entrenched Syrian/Hezballah forces who were fighting near their border either, so why would you expect them to bomb the ISIS/Jihadist elements?

You're enacting double standards.

And while Israel did treat some insignificant number of Jihadists in it's hospitals, that was in payment to the rebel forced on it's border for keeping the peace and was published by Israel itself, not kept quiet.

>>29825013
Stop pretending like treating some 100 FSA fighters, some of them Jihadists, over the course of 4-5 years is meaningful in any way to the outcome of even the Syrian Golan battle.

According to pro SAA sources, looks like that SAA finally remembered that they should be doing something to counter ISIS in Hama/Homs, and so, in a incredibly predictable fashion, they will send the Tigers to the region.

Also, as some of you probably have already read in another thread, the Navy Seal, killed in Iraq, was Charlie Keating, grandson of the financier Charles Keating.

Back to Syria, to complement the ISIS reports on Hama/Homs, ISIS also claimed the capture of 3 tanks, 2 BMP's, 10 23mm cannons (ZU-23-2, most probable) and some ATGM's.

Near Palmyra, ISIS claim that they killed some 22 SAA soldiers near a checkpoint, and captured one enemy soldier.

How strategically important are the Shaer gas fields?
>>
>>29835025
Very because it's oil and gas. It's worth alot money and a resource. That's not the point here though. The SAA can easily take back the oil field but IS overrunning it means the SAA will have to reinforce the area.
IS does not care about the oil field so much as forcing the SAA to halt their Deir Ezzor campaign. That's ISs intent.
>>
>>29834618
Oh shit, I was worried there a bit.
I've got a friend attached to a seal unit doing medical shit in Iraq rn, glad to see it wasn't him.
>>
Not sure how relevant this is to this thread but here goes anyway.
Since yesterday there is a little back a forth between Hamas and the IDF on the Gaza strip border:
Yesterday:
Hamas fired some small arms against an Israeli IDF armored vehicle.
Tonight:
a road side bomb was used by Hamas against an IDF target - no wounded nor casualties.
Since this morning Hamas and the Islamic Jihad have fired about 6 mortar barrages (3-5 mortars each) against IDF border forces.
IDF returned fire, a couple of Hamas positions were destroyed by tanks (they were evacuated before being hit so no casualties).
some small arms fire exchange between IDF troops and Hamas fighters, from a significant distance so no reports of actual casualties.

All on all it's nothing serious so far, it's just extremely unusual. It's the most severe clash between Hamas and Israel in the last 2 years. And while IED's or exchanged gun fire happens from time to time it's usually the IDF against ISIS or other small radical organizations, not Hamas.

I'm beginning to think that the SAA overestimated how easy the fight to al-sukhna would be.

It looks like ISIS had prepared for when they would lose Palmyra and are now keeping up a fierce attack tempo on the SAA in Palmyra and Hama

Also I think if ISIS is strong in Hama, chances are they'll make an attempt this year to seize Salamiyah city and link up with the Rastan pocket.
>>
Breaking that Russia has withdrew 30 more aircraft from Syria. According to them the reason is it's per the original order to withdraw from Putin.

*Sigh, all the pro IS morons are coming out of the woodwork for the latest IS offensive coming from Hama/Homs. Guess they decided it was safe to come out after losing Palmyra.

They are saying 30 SAA have been killed in the ongoing battle for Shaer some of them "tiger forces". Remember these are IS nutbags speaking. Pro SAA sources claim re capturing 8 points in Shaer to go along with it.
I'm going let this shake out and see what happens tomorrow.
>>29835203
Yes there has been a flare up with Hamas. I wonder if they finished re digging all their tunnels.

Pic is from OPs video showing tiger forces propaganda on scene in Shaer.
>>
>>29835094
I double this, I think is difficult to ISIS enjoy a real and concrete financial gain from capturing this oil field, as they would need some time to do so. As Five Stars said, what ISIS gain here is the delaying of the SAA advance in east Palmyra, towards Deir ez Zor, and its working, as the SAA is sending in part of the Tiger from Palmyra to Hama, to counter ISIS.

>Egypt and Yemen did not have armed uprisings??

Nope.

>Furthermore, Syria may not have had an armed uprising had Assad acted as Mubarak. Would it be for the best of the country? I don't know.

May. May!
The Islamists were already there and it was highly likely they would have started an insurgency in the east even if Assad had stepped down.
Just as they have in Sinai.

It also took Mubarak months to step down and the army.

>Exactly, you shoot the arrows and then paint the target. You CHOOSE to only examine non US allies that were effected by the Arab spring, and then theorize that it only makes sense that the CIA instigated the uprisings.

Choose? The only nations currently in civil war or that have major islamists insurgencies are not US-aligned nations.
I did not theorize that the CIA instigated all of them. I said it had a part. I am not the anon from two or three posts ago, only from one post last thread.

>Actually the Obama administration has subverted and intervened in Egypt as well,

No. Initially Obama supported Mubarak, and it was only when his loss looked certain that Obama changed his views and called for him to step down. And no, there was no armed uprising in Egypt.

>and perhaps in Tunisia and others.
Great proof.

>Egypt is distancing itself from the US for a good reason, they were betrayed.

They were. But only now after a new dictator took over who feels wary of Mubarak's own fall.

>No, as was said, the CIA/Obama rolled with the revolutions and helped most of them, overtly they said it was for democracy... what was the real purpose? hard to say, but the results were the strengthening of the Islamist across the ME...

To get rid of US enemies. Syria, Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Algeria are all full of governments that are quite anti-American.
The CIA was absolutely subverting these regimes before the Arab spring. It is why we had so many connections and strings to pull once the general revolution happened.

IS as a whole is just more aggressive. IS followers have a grander religious ambition and a stronger tendency to practice wanton medieval violence in places they occupy, even if it's not threatened directly.

They're driven by the Islamic apocalyptic idea that they will bring forth the end of the world by egging an "Antichrist" force to fight them in the Levant and herald the second coming of Jesus, who will lead them to victory and guarantee them a place in their idea of heaven. Because of their blind drive to ascend to "paradise", they're more willing to leave behind widespread destruction and have no care for the effects of their actions on Earth. Widespread massacre of anyone that doesn't align to them religiously or ideologically, brutal execution methods and desecration of the dead, and deliberate and methodical destruction of anything they deemed blasphemous.

At least with Al-Qaeda and their Nusra affiliate, they seek a more popular support base from the Sunnis, knowing that wanton practice of violence to generate fear among their subjects will only alienate the people that they're supposed to fight for.

Mubarak was a 'vital ally' according to the wikileaks .

The fact is the arab spring was an historical event that caught both the US and new USSR off balance. The new USSR was quite happy to see us allies rolled over but when it got to the USSRs puppet Assad they weer quite preparted to go the extra mile in bloodshed to preserve the naval base at tarus, following the closing of their base in Vietnam just about the only worthwhile naval base they had left.

Assad had long been flirting with former Baathist officers and funnelling extremists into Iraq to attack US forces there.

When a popular uprising began against him following the widespread use of torture to crack down on popular protest including widespread army mutiny he was sure he could follow in the footsteps of his father and rapidly genocide the homs region. He ailed and in increasing desperation as he faced loosing the civil war turned to Russia.

Russian advisors told him to divide the opposition and gain support in the west by 'fighting terrorists. He released a wave of imprisoned fundamentalists with the brief to Russian fsb inserts from Dagestan to attack Iraq.

This they did. To the great delight of both the USSR and Assad.

At this point Putin had basically started world war three by attacking what was in effect a US proxy.

Assad with assistance from Russian military intelligence on the ground running listening posts proceeded to primarily target non ISIS forces, particularly moderates while financially assisting ISIS by funding via oil purchases.

ISIS was orchestrated to be a murder machine, slaughtering the population.

When the time came to turn off ISIS itself to 'win' the war ISIS was directed to start attacks on Europe and in essence suicide.

Now Assad waits to walk onto the stage to applause while the USSR spews out propaganda , encouraging both left and right extremists in the EU etc.

No nation on earth has caused as much death as the USSR it is was and always will be evil

Fighting was reported between KRG troops and IRGC in the Iranian city of Sardasht to the west of Erbil. Despite the animosity between the two groups there have been very few clashes between the two. What is also significant is that the clashes occurred inside Iran.

British troops are planning for a possible deployment of up to a thousand troops in Libya. This comes as western special forces in the country ramp up involvement with increased raids and targeting of ISIL elements inside the country. This comes as Italy weighs in stating that it is not yet the time to intervene directly ( im guessing conventionally) in Libya.

Haftar's forces are fighting Mistrata militias for control over the Gardabya air base in Sirte. It appears though that the Misrata militias involved are not ISIL affiliates.

ISIL has launched its planned assault on Maerea. Night clashes have been reported to the west of the rebel held city in the northern part of the Aleppo province. If captured, it would be one of the biggest losses the FSA would incur in the tug of war that is the fighting between them and ISIL in the north.

Its a day old but I didn't see it in the last thread: Tiger forces have made more gains along the M20 highway that heads towards Deir Ezzor and have captured several oilfields near the ISIL held town of Arak.

>>
>>29839223
Closest I can think of is Sardasht in the West Azerbaijan Province, which has a good chunk of Kurds and is near the border with Iraq. The KRG is based in Iraq so I can imagine they couldn't possibly be able to run that deep in.

yes, sorry. Get a little mixed up. Source is Rudaw a Kurdish news agency that covers all countries in which there are Kurds in. Also Ara news (also kurdish) reported it.

http://rudaw.net/NewsDetails.aspx?pageid=213373

location of Sardasht

its unconfirmed, but reports that ten IRGC soldiers were killed, no reports on Kurdish fatalities so far

There is tension in the Kurdish majority cities in Iran over the closure of the Iraqi-Iranian border crossings into Kurdish controlled territory. That might have been enough to start the clashes.

Muslims actually believe in Jesus as a prophet. Except they also believe Jesus is Muslim, since he's prophet for Islam.

I am not making this shit up. This is very fucking well-documented.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_in_Islam
>>
>>29841357
>>29841383

Adding to that, the Islamic eschatology is also explicit about Jesus' involvement in aiding in vanquishing Islamic Antichrist.

>The hadith describe the end time with more specificity than the Qur'an, describing the events of al-Qiyamah through twelve major signs. At the time of judgment, terrible corruption and chaos will rule. The Mahdi (prophesied redeemer) will be sent and with the help of Jesus, will battle Masih ad-Dajjal (Antichrist in Islam). They will triumph, liberating Islam from cruelty, and this will be followed by a time of serenity with people living true to religious values.

Again, I can't make this shit up. This is copied almost verbatim from the way Christian eschatology plays out.

interesting way of putting it. christianity is a jewish offshoot founded by jews and centering around a jew and a new covenant between jews and the jewish god in a new reading of fundemental jewish beliefs (sacrifice being one of them, jesus was the sacrifice to end all sacrifices). jewey jewey jew. so much so that according to the catholic church, all believers are now the chosen people of god and jews need to step to. also, according to the jews themselves, as long as christians obey the laws of noah they go to jew paradise. one big happy christ killing family.

islam was some shit invented by an arab to get one over other arabs as he raped and murdered his way to the top of the arab pile. he did this by copying someone else's religion with him in the center of it, just before he started setting fire to people who didn't follow him.

so if by 'roots' you mean 'some sandnigger re-writing other peoples shit to help justify him killing people he didn't like' sure, same roots.

Coming from a normie civilian, is it that Russia lacks the capability to bomb IS out of existence in a held area, or are they worried about infrastructure? Or what?
>>
>>29842617
It's mostly the former. Sustained airstrike operations abroad is apparently costing Russia a lot of money, not the best time when it's been facing sanctions from Europe after the shitshow in the Ukraine. That's why they only deployed a small fraction of their overall airpower and could only keep up bombing for half a year before scaling back on bombing runs.
>>
>>29842699
That makes sense. Same reason I don't go to the range everyday.
>>
>>29837940

>anyone who disagrees with me is a joo
>>
>>29841738

>also, according to the jews themselves, as long as christians obey the laws of noah they go to jew paradise. one big happy christ killing family.

Clarification: this applies to all human beings, not just Christians. Jews just believe that Jews, as the chosen people, have a special obligation to keep ALL of Jew god's laws, not just the basic set told to Noah. Non-Jews have no obligation to not eat pork, for example. Just don't rape, murder, steal, eat live animals, deny god's existence, blaspheme, or be an anarchist, and you're good to go.

Technically that means pagans, polytheists, animists, and anyone else who isn't a monotheist is fucked by definition unless they stop denying angry jew god.
>>
>>29842699
>That's why they only deployed a small fraction of their overall airpower and could only keep up bombing for half a year before scaling back on bombing runs.

That's not really true. For the first 6 months the RUAF sent in around 60 offensive planes plus about 20 helicopters to Syria, which is substantial for a support mission. Obviously the cost of running so many aircraft abroad is expected to be expensive regardless, so you're probably right about the second point.

This loosely falls under /MEG/ thread but Tunisia is getting 24 Bell OH-58D Kiowa Warrior scout and light attack helicopters from the US. They're paying 100.8 million for the entire set. It's part of Tunisia's initiative to increase their combat border patrols and to increase the size of the non standard rotary aircraft force of Tunisia's armed forces.

Also, Ethiopia has mechanized its S-75's (SA-2's) with T-55/54 Chassis.

SAA will apparently launch an offensive in the coming hours to recapture the entirety of Shaer. ISIL deaths have just been reported, so it appears that the offensive has started.

Infighting has been reported between rebels in Eastern Ghouta, to the East of Damascus. Its between Jaish al-Islam and Faylaq al-Rahman militias.

Same guy again, a little update.
Seems like since 2 days ago IDF engineering forces made 2 small incursions into the Gaza strip, one in the south Near Rafah, and one in the North-East near Sajaiyah/Nahal Oz.

Palestinians/Hamas sources state that IDF forces moved as far as 200-400 meters inside the strip, and this is what led to the fire exchange.

Last night Hamas affiliates reported that with the help of Egyptian mediation the IDF forces should leave the strip and things should calm down.

During the night there was an IDF airstrike against a Hamas office building (pretty small charge, so seems like a warning shot more than anything else) with 1 person being wounded.

This morning the IDF publicized that they have uncovered a tunnel crossing into Israel in their operation on the south end of the Gaza strip, that's the most likely reason for the IDF incursion into Gaza there (pic related).

IDF forces are still operating inside the Gaza/adjutant to the border on the two locations mentioned above as well as near Beit Hanun on the North end of the strip.

While there are no similar news, of a tunnel being uncovered, coming from the North of the strip, it's a pretty safe to say that the reason for the activity there is similar.

First time since the 2014 operation that the IDF moves this deep into Gaza, so far the Hamas response was light.

The truth of the matter is the Tiger forces won't officially be there until the SAA wins back the gas field because they don't want their propaganda as crack SAA ground forces to get ruined even though multiple pro SAA sources claimed yesterday the tiger forces showed up.

IS has taken all of Shaer today and claims capturing 20 tanks (lol wtf) and killing 100 SAA over the course of 4 days. SAA counter attack yesterday failed. Only big wig confirmed killed at Shaer gas field is SAA General Qusai Ibrahim. He was killed during the beginning of it.
>>29842617
This is a good question. It's hard to explain why the Ruaf can't stop IS in eastern Homs yet they did in Palmyra. I echo what the others said. The Ruaf simply doesn't have the resources to cover everything. Pro Syrian gov people tend to gloss over the amazing amount of airpower the Ruaf had to bring to smash IS at Palmyra.

IS also knows how to disperse into small groups to avoid getting wiped out in a airstrike. They learned this long before the other rebel groups did.

They better have to. They failed with Khan Touman the last time, so they probably want to try again, maybe push the Khan Touman- al-Eis line further east or keep pressure on Hadher.

I'm not exactly sure if its the right strategy though. Even if completely sucessfull, retaking these settlements on its own has little meaning in the context of the supply lines into aleppo being threatened or the looming full siege of the city. I think stuff like that mini offensive in Zahraa some days ago are far more efficient.

In general they should rather dig in and switch to full WW 1 style defense in Rif Aleppo and instead use the regime focus there for larger offensives elsewhere. I am thinking of Northern Hama or the Ghab Plain. Also the fucking Southern Front could finally do something for a change.

If past experiences with Qaryatayn and Mahin are anything to go by (when RuAF airstrikes were intensified) the SAA isn't particularly known to be great in battlefield strategies at times.

You also have to keep in mind that the RuAF has toned down airstrikes since a couple months back. The SAA is operating with far less air support than when they made gains around Aleppo and towards Palmyra. Fuckups are going to be expected.
>>
Well if a bad day can't get any worse it just did for the SAA. Jund al-Aqsa just claimed to take most of Khan Touman. TIP may be there too, the Asian jihadist group with Jund.

Reports that ISIS have taken the village of Abu Grin in Libya, from the Misrata Brigades, adding some 20 vehicles and 5 prisoners captured as well.

In the image, the SAA version of what I generally call a "Double Action BMP", that is basically a BMp with a 23mm mounted on top, for god knows what practical reason.

Another one , 15 captured on the front line. Clearly Afghan Shia, they look Asian too.

As far as Khan Touman the Shia/SAA still hold it as I post this. Jaf/JAN/Jund etc are at the outskirts but claim to have sealed off all routes out of there.

South Aleppo holds alot of loyalist forces. I feel a repeat of a couple of weeks ago incoming. They cap khadilyah and push for tuman, then it fails. Just like what happens when loyalists push for Al-Eis. They cap the town but fail on the hill.

I see your point but going off what they say (which could make me look like a moron) they are isolating Khan Touman. This is by the book how you capture a objective. The only thing that is going to save the defenders is a counter attack from the outside.

it wasn't LNA though, Misrata militias are being attacked by both the LNA and ISIL at the same time. The reports is that ISIL took the town of Abugiren SE of Misrata from the militias.

ISIL is taking advantage of the weakness of the militias and their fighting with the LNA to take some land from them. My guess is that they want to take as much land and fortify it before the LNA and possible western troops arrive.

LNA is mostly associated with my boy Colonel Haftar and the unity government that's still fighting against themselves.

ISIL is reported to have advanced to the eastern part of the city (which is why Misrata is under a state of alert). Though few reports of ISIL in the area, so it might just be the militias panicking.

ISIL has claimed they've captured the Libyan towns of Baghla, Bunjaim, Zamzam, Washka, Buirat al-Hassaun & Bugrain but there haven't been any confirmation of that happening as of yet.

You have no source to back this up.

1. ISIS is far more powerful and offensively talented than you think.
2. Russia has maybe 30 planes and 20 helicopters in Syria. Eastern Syria is a long way from their base.
3. These battles are taking place far away from SAA cities and strongholds.
>>
Anyone know anything about that refugee camp that got bombed a couple hours ago? Most mainstream outlets seem to hint that it was either Russian or Syrian aircraft, but I've yet to hear a statement on whether Turkish or US aircraft were or weren't in the area.

If you are talking about the one near Sarmada in Idlib than its ether SAA or RuAF. No reason for USAF to operate there except for targeted killing and even then USAF wold pay better attention to avoid large civilian death count. And Turky really has no reason to use air force there, if they wanted it blown up they could do it with arty.

I do have some more on the SAA/Shia militia counter attack in Khan Touman. Pro Jaf source says Jaf lost control of some parts of Khan Touman but still hold other parts matching pro SAA sources that they have regained parts of the city.
Another good battle ongoing tonight.
