If you look at the close up pictures, you can see damage to the metal underneath the finish, which is a sign of either rust or deep scratches/dings to the metal, and diminishes the value because when someone does try to refinish the gun in black polycoat, it will always have those dents showing through. So, it could never be refinished to look 100% ever again. I do kind of wonder about the gun's history and when it came into the country, though, since it appears to be a police trade-in, but it lacks import marks. Or maybe the import marks were filed off at the time of refinish? Either way, something seems odd.
>>
If the short rail is so desirable why not mill that part out on a newer model instead?

Yeah, I was excited when I saw short rail in the description. Not so much afterwards when I saw that it was parked.

Alternatively there's a Swiss made Cz if that tickles your fancy more.
>>
>>29502669
Part of the desirability is the fact that they were made out of super hard tool steel, and generally finished to a slightly higher standard than later production 75's.
>>
>>29502669
It's not desirable because of any functionality of the rail itself. It's desirable because it indicates that it's one of the older ones, which have no firing pin block, and tend to have really nice triggers. Also Muh Rally.
>>
>>29502729
>which have no firing pin block, and tend to have really nice triggers.

Pre-B CZ 75's are common enough and inexpensive enough on Gunbroker. The Alaska tripfag has two of them (both refinished) that he got from CDI Sales in the past year or so for $350-400 each. Also, the lack or presence of a firing pin block really doesn't affect the trigger pull in itself. The firing pin block mechanism in a CZ 75 B is such that it drops out of the way to engage, so there isn't any added friction in the trigger pull...

Short rail CZ 75's are just rare enough and quirky enough to command a pretty steep premium over the later production pre-B's. If that gun had the original finish, it could easily sell for $3000 or maybe more. Being refinished, I'd put its real value closer to $750-900, although the reality is that a desperate wanna-be collector who has read too many gun-related manga and who has too much money for his own good will probably see this on Gunbroker and could easily buy it for $2000, or even more. I'm really not sure about $3000. I think the seller is doing some serious fishing with his price and will eventually drop it.
>>
while we have a CZ thread going, I have a question. as a general use platform for range and cc, which would you guys go with the CZ p-01 or the p-07?
>>

>>
>>29502817
I'd seriously consider the Colt Z40 if there was any available source of spare parts/springs or magazines.
>>

>The Alaska tripfag has two of them (both refinished) that he got from CDI Sales in the past year or so for $350-400 each.
I sold one of them, I realized having two Pre Bs of the same finish was quite redundant. The first one was $365 the second one I got was $275. That's before shipping and transfer fee.
>>29502817
Which one strikes your fancy more?
>>
>>29502912
I've held them both and can't really decide but the p-07 has the omega trigger built in and is lighter.
>>
>>29502797
FPB is cammed up when trigger is pulled. It does not drop put of the way. It is cammed up so that a cut in it allows the FP to move. You are correct that it doesn't effect trigger pull like all the idiots say it does though.

>weight
The only issue with that is having a shitty belt and holster.
>>
>>29502797
>>29506365
You two are the idiots. You are correct that the FPB has no affect on the trigger pull. It's the FPB spring attached to the trigger that works the FPB that affects the trigger pull. It's not a direct affect, just an indirect affect. Like your tumors.

The FPB spring is not attached the the triggger. It sits above the FPB in the slide and forces it downward. If you actually think that spring has an appreciable effect on trigger pull weight you would be the idiot. There is a second spring in the trigger assembly that you may be referring to called the FPB lever spring. Again if you think that spring has an appreciable effect you would be the idiot. There are no other springs so unfortunately it seems like either way you are an idiot.

To prove this you can do the following. Test trigger pull weight to establish a baseline. Remove the slide. Remove the FPB lever spring and lever. Replace it with a shim. Test trigger pull weight. There will not be an ounce of difference.

>>
>>29512947
Now that I can see the condition on my computer and not from my phone, not at that price.

The fact that it's refinished and parked instead of the original bluing is a big enough factor to detract me from buying it. One sold for $3500 in February (an auction I missed). and it was immaculate.

but $3k for a half ass parked finished, pitted pistol? Sure it's the first time I've had the opportunity to snag one now but is it really worth it?

I dream every day of owing a short rail, but if i make that dream come true with a pitted refinished pistol, and pay a premium price for it, the same price an immaculate one sold for, I don't think I'll be truly satisfied.

There's a quote from a Czech movie about the communist era that goes like this:

"Listen, Bedřich, there's one thing the Communists like even more than Lenin..."
[little kid interposes] "Their mommy?"
"That too, little one, but even more than mommy, they like hard currency."

So my state is about to get Constitutional carry and I've been looking for a iwb holster for my P-01(pic related)

Are MTAC holsters worth the 80 shekels? I don't mind spending the money but I'd rather not overpay when there's better options and I can put some more money towards a good gun belt.

Correct. We're getting a lot of hate from SJW for basically telling the LGBT community to fuck off but I could care les as long as I get to CC without having to spend 5-6 hours at a highway patrol department doing papework. The Governor is even coming to my job tomorrow, but I'll probably miss him cause I'm on afternoon shift.

>We're getting a lot of hate from SJW for basically telling the LGBT community to fuck off but I could care les as long as I get to CC without having to spend 5-6 hours at a highway patrol department doing papework.

>>

Nah guns are too evil and completely against their liberal mindset. I can't even stand going on normie book from all the LGBT circle jerking going on. I finally deleted a high school friend that got brain washed by the feminist/liberal agenda in college that was posting some of the dumbest shit I've read in awhile. What's funny is that in high school she was one of the meanest females in the school. Racist, openly making fun of a gay couple holding hands in class, making fun of fat and ugly girls. Complete 180 now that she's in college surrounded by fat stereotypical SJW types.

Did you even read while you posted?
>TL;DR Initial CZ75s were forged in-house. Soon after the change to longer rails, frames were outsourced to Spain and cast. The new cast frames were inferior. Frames were soon made again in-house and quality restored.

There is no qualitative difference between a short-rail and a later pre-B, other than rarity and distinctiveness. Everyone goes "muh short rail" because it's easy to tell apart. Think about it, the only source that says a short rail is superior is a nogunz Japanese drawing comics for entertainment.

frames went from forged to cast and when CZ had the means to do in house frame casting, the new frames are still cast and not forged. The originals are collectors items due to the 'legendary status' that pre-dates GSC, it's not just weaboos who are trying to buy them.

The " nogunz Japanese drawing comics" took the legend from outside source. the legend predates GSC. he just used the legend in his novels. Read the screen-cap more carefully.

Screencap says
>Not only were they cast, but the quality of the castings were so bad that the pistol reputation dropped immensely in the European market at the time. Military contracts were canceled, and shooting enthusiasts spread the news about the terrible quality CZ pistols had become on their second generation.
>This is where the whole drama between the original CZ-75 and the 2nd generation CZ-75 comes from, because, as rally explained, the new CZ-75s were complete and utter dog shit.

So any "legendary status" is just the difference between the initial forged frames and the shitty Spanish cast frames. If forged frames are so superior, then why aren't people going 'muh AR-24'? What outside source is there for the CZ75 short rail being so superior? [Citation needed] James D. Brown's Cold War Pistols of Czechoslovakia or J.M. Ramos' CZ-75 Family don't mention qualitative difference in the short rail. It's a collector's item for its rarity, just like a H&K P7M8 Jubilee.
>>
>>29522574
collectibility. The "legend of the CZ-75", the rarity of the original models. Even early long rail CZ-75s sell for a couple thousand dollars.

CZ collectors spend a lot of money on their collections, its the same reason why many old surplus guns sell for thousands even though they aren't even very good firearms.

rarity and demand for said rare items will demand a premium.
