If a revolver was the only sidearm you had, what length barrel would you choose?
I'm debating between 4inch or 6inch for a. 357 of some sort, but I'm not sure. Have any of you carried one for an extended amount of time?
Pls help ;~;
I'd choose 6" bare minimum for .44 (and it would be a .44 to match my levergat) since anything less tends to be a glorified flamethrower.

I like my .357s with 6" barrels. Get a ported barrel if possible.
Unless it interferes with your choice of carry, for .357 I'd go with the 6" barrel.
.357 performance over .38 Special is optimal with the longer barrel, and nearly completely wasted with a snubbie. There is a substantial difference in muzzle velocity even between a 4" and 6".
2, maybe three feet.

Approximately the length of your dick, huh?

2" snubby it is
Which revolver has the best, lightest, DA trigger pull?
I saw some old guy at the range holding a super wide stance and leaning over the bench like he was a 70s movie cop using his police cruiser as a return fire cover position.
In his hands was what looked like a S&W snub, which he was shooting DA only. He was hitting bullseyes rapid fire like a mother fucker.
Made me want an old revolver like that, but my 4 inch GP100 has the longest heaviest DA trigger pull of any gun ever, so I would prefer something with a light trigger pull pls respond.

Literally the only revolver I would carry
Assuming we're talking about a .357 or .38, I'd say 4 or 5 inches. Maybe 3

Would be my choice as well. Almost bought one once, they are super nice

If I had a long arm, 4 inch. If it is my ONLY gun, 6 inch.
>>30668466
Why settle for only one barrel length?
>>30668492
I have a 5 inch 629, it doesn't really have any more muzzle flash than the 6 inch barreled Colt Anaconda I used to own.
M&P R8 in .357
its your side arm you don't need to skimp on barrel length. I mean its not like your CCW

How big is the grip on those things compared to, say, a 686? I have small hands (manlet) and I was suprised how well the bigass 686 fit my hand.
7 inch .454 Casull

If you take the time to tailor your loads, pretty much any revolver is just fine with 4 inches.

You can have a really nice DA in any revolver if you let a gunsmith tweak it.

Nice burn bru.

I've got a 686 with 6" barrel, one of the sweetest shooting pistols I've got
