I want to get my first gun, I want it to be a six shooter.

Cost is not really a worry

What does /k/ recommend?
>>
Heritage Arms Rough Rider.
Ruger Single Six.
>>
>>30658687
if you're thinking about hand-loading ammo, I might recommend an Italian Bodeo. There are some with folding triggers and some with trigger guards. The caliber is in the .42 range. You can get reloading supplies (brass, bullets, dies) on Buffalo Arms website. It's a neat gun; uses a loading gate, and most of them that you will find can use smokeless.
>>
Does it have to be single action?
>>
SA or DA?
Caliber preference?
Sidearm while hunting or collectors piece?

Need some more to go on
>>
>>30659250
Well considering its my first gun, I honestly do not know much.

I was more so wondering where I should start.
>>
>>30659286
glock 19
>>
>>30659310
As I said, I want it to be a six shooter.

>revolver

I would get a 357 mag probably. You can get really low power 38 special for plinking or get some hot 357 and take it out hunting. It is a very versatile round.
I would choose between a GP100 or a S&W 686.
Both really nice revolvers.

>>

It isnt the first gun ill be shooting, just the first I will be owning for myself.
>>
>>30659286
I have a old Taurus model 66 that I have literally run through the gauntlet for decades that has never failed me. But I attribute that to luck.

Also bought a SW model 29 because of Dirty Harry. No regrets with either. Though I would suggest a good S&W or Ruger in 357 in whatever style or color you like the most.

The GP100 is a really well built (some say overbuilt) gun, so you don't have to baby it as much as you do some other designs, or worry about getting ammo too hot for it. It's a good choice for a first revolver, and it gives you an excuse to get a .357mag/.38spc lever action later, which is also fun.

poorfag's smith m27

rugged build but ruger skimps on the finish. revolvers need a good polish not shitty brushed stainless.
>>
>>30658687
Uberti SAA with a case hardened frame
>>
>>30659504
Newfags are going to fuck up the finish on a gucci gun anyways.

+1 for the GP100. It was my first handgun and I have no regrets.

Go ahead and spring for the Match Champion model with the adjustable sights. It's going to be about $100 to $150 above the regular model, but you get quite a lot of good shit for that extra money. They do a trigger job, add some sweet ass wood grips, fiberoptic front sight (big improvement over the base model), and it's really well balanced in the hand.

Just be a cowboooo. Get a Henry Rifle or some other lever action first and practice. Then get a six shooter.

There is only one true answer. "The gun that won the west."

Colt single action army.
>>
Ruger Blackhawk .357 mag. You get the look and feel of the old west gun slinger, but get much better modern day adjustable sights.

Get the Ruger .357 Blackhawk flat top convertable stainless- it's a Lipseys exclusive. You'll be able to shoot .38s or .357 in one cylinder, 9mm in the other.

The gun that won the west was the henry rifle. The SAA only won duels and sometimes saved a dude from getting scalped
