>Russia is again expected to try to get China to invest in its new Tupolev PAK-DA strategic stealth bomber capable of launching nuclear weapons from space.

>Russia first made investment overtures to China in 2014 but seems to have been turned down. The need for Chinese investment is now even more pressing as Russia is facing a severe cash crunch as a result of crippling economic sanctions following its invasion of Ukraine in February 2014.

>Russia, however, sees its new strategic bomber as so important President Vladimir Putin commanded work begin on PAK DA despite the complex technology requirements and funding problems. The PAK DA project was almost cancelled in 2012 due, in part, to funding deficiencies.

>Analysts said China might want to invest this time since none of China's Xi'an H-6 strategic long-range bombers (the equivalent of the U.S. B-52) are capable of reaching the continental United States. The H-6 has a range of 3,600 kilometers while the distance from Beijing to Washington D.C. is 11,000 km.

>PAK DA, which will replace both the turboprop-powered Tupolev Tu-95 "Bear" and the supersonic Tupolev Tu-160 "White Swan" strategic bombers, is being developed by the Tupolev Design Bureau. PAK DA stands for "Perspektivnyi Aviatsionnyi Kompleks Dal'ney Aviatsii" literally, "prospective aviation complex for long-range aviation."

>This next-generation strategic bomber is expected to enter service with the Russian Air Force from 2025 to 2030. First flight of the flying wing is scheduled for 2019. PAK DA will fly at subsonic speeds but a hypersonic version might be developed.

>PAK DA will be equipped with advanced precision guided weapons, including hypersonic weapons.

>In its hypersonic version, PAK DA will be capable of launching nuclear weapons from space and can reach any part of the globe in one or two hours, said Colonel Alexei Solodovnikov, Representative of the Military Academy of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces.

Every week russia has a new super project in the works. My favorite was the supersonic cargo jet.
>>

Topkek! Inb4 they build one and go bankrupt
>>
>>30633489
Yeah, but this time it is China who would be onboard and not India.

And China gets stuff done.
>>
>>30633502
Chinese can design and build their own, they don't need Russia's help
>>
>>30633514
Well, Russia would still be needed for the engines, I guess.

Sure, with the WS-15, they could build one that is powered by maybe four. But not by 2019.

>No source
>Its yet another Russian superweapon model thread

What will it be? 1/8th scale? 1/18th? Who knows!

China's involvement would make the project actually possible.

China should rather build the JH-X stealthy Tu-22 like naval bomber and leave the strategic bomber stuff to this joint project.
>>
What is the point of this. I though strategic bombers are obsolete now with ICBMs

They are but countries still build them for intimidation. Circling a bunch of nuclear-armed bombers right around somebody else's border really sends a message, you know?

Try telling an ICBM to turn back.
>>
Why? China is just going to steal Russian tech and then tell Russia it is going in a different direction.

Heavy bombers are good for a lot more than just nuclear deterrence.

Normally, Russia is holding tight with the tech and only want funding.

Russia has the shitty habit or trying to sell developmental models to the Indians, excluding them from any technology related things, and ask for a raise after years of delay, wanting the other side to merely fund the development which will then be sold as monkey model to the funder.

China knows this, which is why they are not that excited about this project. But the Chinese are hard negotiators, so maybe they can arrage some better deal. Especially since the Chinese are currently working on their Flying Wing bomber as well, the H-20.

Bullshit.

What a bunch of total nonsense.

Thats just fucking blatant, come on
>>
>>30635373
China is another country that makes lots of scale models and renderings for military projects that never, ever actually get built.
>>
>>30635471
A lot arent built, but most are. They arent like Russia, in that regard.

What?
>>
>>30635528
Which stealth fighter is now in LRIP stage?

J-20 or PAK-FA?

Which can into S-ducts and actual stealth shaping?

J-20 or PAK-FA?
>>
>>30633514
>Chinese can design and build their own
That goes contrary to the entire history of aircraft development in China.
>>
>>30635561
Neither!
>>
>>30635582
What are you talking about?
Except for the most obvious LICENCE COPIES (yes, they were soviet supplied kits), the rest of China's airforce flies 100% Chinese planes.

So, J-8, J-10, JH-7, J-20, Y-20, Y-9

Russian stuff is: J-7/MiG-21, Su-27/J-11, Y-8 (An-24) and IL-76. That's it.
>>
Remember when Russia repeatly stated that China would buy S-400 and Su-35.
>>
>>30635685
Russians would actually pay China to buy them
but the S-400 will actually arrive, China truly respect this system, at least
>>
>>30635630
Pretty much all of China's airfleet are basically thinly veiled copies of Russian planes. Basically they just stole from the licensed designs and built their own versions, like they do with everything else.
>>
>>30635734
Such as?

>inb4 posting that troll-chart claiming that the J-8 is a copy of the Su-15, even though China and the USSR were at war at that time
>>
>>30635704
The sales was made public by the Russians in 2014.

We never got a Chinese confirmation nor any proofs that there are S-400 units on the way to or in China.
>>
>>30635548
Just like the PAK-FA, m8.

They're putting it into production now and the magical engines and real stealth come later :^)
>>
>>30635819

It has been known for years that it will be a subsonic flying wing, similar to B-2 and B-21. That kind of airframe cannot be turned into hypersonic later on.

These Russian future bomber threads always contain same fucking pictures from design concepts from fucking 70's. Usually Tupolevs lifting body concept for Tu-160. In that case Myasishchev won in design concept phase, but Tupolev was selected to actually develop what ended up as Tu-160.
