>Nuggets going up to $250 minimum
>SKS's going up in price after execution of that poor dindu by exploding robot, even cheap Chink SKS's are starting to go into $400's
>Cheap AR's are still shit

What should a poorfag get for a innawoods/SHTF rifle? Is the Nugget still worth buying at $250, or even the SKS at $400 for a Norinco?

Or is the .22 enough to hold off a horde of Syrian doctors and engineers/ disenfranchised youths wanting to hold a prayer session in my living room?

Wrong, idiot.

PSA premium rifle kit + $50 stripped lower = good AR

shit man thats one day for me.
>>
>>30617646

Always factor in the booleets!

Nothing worse than having a gun and not being able to feed it.

5.56 is a cheap and available round. If you go the Mosin meme route, you may end up with a rifle and have problems accessing ammo. It depends on how much you will be wanting to shoot.

cheap AR's have not been shit for like alteast 3 years

According to AK Operator's Union the Radical Firearms AR is actually pretty good

somebody posted that these are good cheap semi-autos
>>
>>30617646

The age of surplus is ending. No government is going to take their service rifles, convert them to semi auto, and resell them to US citizens. Buy the sks before the price climbs even higher if 300 more for a cheaper new semi auto rifle is a make or break deal.
>>
>>30619529
you can't convert them to semi-auto, legally once a machine gun always a machine gun, that's why we just get parts kits.
>>
You should only buy stripped lowers. That way you have the liquidity of owning a firearm but without the destructive power of one.
>>
>>30617943
>>assuming he doesn't use every penny just to make ends meet
If that's how his life is going, he has far, far more pressing matters than buying a gun.

i don't know about your hierarchy of needs but gun is ahead of shelter on mine.
>>
>>30619896
If you have a gun and an axe you can negotiate for shelter pretty effectively, or build it in the woods.

Not much worth recommending under $500 bucks other than a handgun.

IMO nuggets shit for a dumbsday rifle.
Trust me looking back you don't want to have been "that guy" with a nugget dressed in a XXXL gorka and alice pack.

For $320 the sks will do the job, I mean its limited (10 round capacity no "GOOD" muzzle attachments) but It will get things done.

at $400 your better off getting a poorfag starter AK. although thats not a great market atm with all the guns going to various conflicts wasrs are like $600 +

Ive seen Mini 14's for 500 ish lately. Im not a fan of those at all but as long as nothing at all gets in the chamber it uh "SHOULD"work....ish.

Might want to look at SU16's.

Really Ill tell you $800 and up is what you want to spend on a rifle you wont regret in the future, compared to $350 for a handgun

Used glocks are like $350, a new TP9 is also $350.

For your price range there isn't anything decent as far as rifles go, unless the sks comes back down.
>>
>>30619988
There are AK "pistols" for under $600 that can have "pistol braces" installed for under $200 that don't need a certain $200 cock-ring from the ATF.
>>
>>30619988
>Not much worth recommending under $500 bucks other than a handgun.

Pump action shotguns?
>>
>>30620007
Remember the brace is like a extra $150, possibly cheaper on ebay used.

Don't know if there's cheaper braces out there yet.
>>
>>30620022
OH shit I forgot to add that.
Fuck yeah shotguns have a ton in the price range OP wants.

Just pick up a mossy 500 or remmy 870.

PS op use gunwatcher it will save you a ton in your firearms journey.

x54r is now as or more expensive than .308 m80 ball.

5.45 is still the cheapest centerfire rifle round by a cent or two, but only one rufle shoots it and those start at $750.

5.56 steel cased is only a cent or two more expensive than 5.45, and is available in decent quality new production boltguns at or under $300. In fact one of them is under $200 new.
>buy savage axis xp package for ~$230 (includes serviceable but meh 3-9x scope)
>buy case of barnaul or wolf 55gr 5.56
>>
>>30617646
>Is it good to spent $250 on a 70 year old rifle made by slaves chambered in round that's not mass produced domestically?

The Savage Axis and Mossberg Patriot are modern bolt actions that are miles ahead of Mosins in quality and retail for $300. You can buy them in a variety of calipers including .308(can also shoot 7.62x51win), 30-06, and .270. You also get a good warrantee and technical support, which you won't get with the mosin unless you want to track down geriatric retired Soviet army gunsmiths in the dive bars of St Petersburg.

>federal minimum wage is $7.65/hr
>over half the states are over $8/hr minimum wage
Pretty valid assumption considering night shift at a waffle house starts at $10.35/hr plus tips for servers and $13.00/hr for cooks and they'll even hire registered sex offenders.
>>
>>30620064
This. The .223 Savage Axis is a really nice gun to shoot, nice trigger, and for $300 will come with a scope that is while not amazing, not total garbage--in all ways a better gun than the nugget.

Or get a LE trade-in Glock/M&P.
>>
>>30620038
KAK industries shockwave blade. Fiddy bux, feels and looks better than the Sig, fits any/all pistol buffer tubes.

For an additional $40 you can get the kak buffer tube, which has detents so you can adjust the length of pull (requires an allen key) to long enough to shoulder comfortably (not that you would, since thats illegal).

>>30617978
This. I can't justify a gun purchase to myself anymore because I always think "or I could just have more ammo"
>>
>>30620110
The "pistol braces" for short AKs are somewhat triangular and designed specifically for the AK platform. They're not like other pistol braces for smaller pistols.
>>
The savage axis has probably killed everything in the milky way at some point. Pic related, I'm a savage axis.
>>
>>30620105
>Buy a pistol instead

A pistol cannot do what a rifle can and are difficult to own in Cuckstates.
>>
>>30620022
This.
Seriously, how many of us think our own personal battle against tyranny will be won or lost at 300-yd range?
If you don't have a lot of cash, it's easy enough to get a pump shotgun for $100-$250.
00 buck going downrange is deadly for over 50 yards and in an increasingly wide pattern, slugs can be 100-yard showstoppers with reasonable accuracy. Ammo is cheap and nearly always available.
I have plenty of equipment for .308, 7.62x54R, 7.62x39, and 5.56. Some of them have great capacity and all are good rifles. I certainly wouldn't dismiss the fact that a Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 would still both be firearms I'd not want to encounter if I were on a team of invading bad guys with AK's or AR's.
With my AR or AK, I might miss my target by just a little. The guy with the Mossy 500 isn't going to. Yeah, shotguns aren't sniper rifles, but for any armchair operator out there, I dare you to stand 75-100 yards out with the weapon of your choice and spout off about how "safe" you are from the guy with a properly loaded scattergun.
>>
cheap ar-15s are not shit
>>
>>30620143
>ammo is cheap
Birdshot trap loads are sorta cheap at around 25 cents per. Buck and slugs are about a dollar per. Thats not really cheap, and you can get GOOD defensive 5.56 for a little over half that or GOOD defensive .308 for the same price.
>>
>>30620132
Entirely dependent on the rear trunnion. You can mount an AR buffer tube relatively cheaply and quite easily.
>>
>>30617646

/k/, what would be your recommendations for a SHTF .22 rifle? I never see any such recommendations other than the usual AR15/Glock.
>>
>>30621140
That's because anything smaller than .223 is worthless in SHTF and ARs are the best .223 for that role. Get an AR.

You honestly think someone with the financial planning of a child would even be capable of factering in bullets?
Let alone cleaning and maintaince supplies as well.
>>
>>30620064
Lol, fucking please.
Don't listen to these faggots, OP.
The mosin outshoots and outlasts any modern bolt gun. The mosin is at least worth $800, so even if it's at $300, it's still worth it.
There's a reason it's so popular.
>>
>>30621154
What if I actually need advice? What if I live in a country where weapons are heavily regulated yet I can get my hands on an untracked .22 rifle of my choosing?
