Hey guys, Irishfag here, I know sweet fuck all about guns.
I found this spent casing in the woods today, could you tell me what kind of round it is? What gun it may have come from?
Looks like a blank. Any military training ever take part by you?

Yes, there's a barracks a few miles from me.
Show us the bottom of the cartridge, bud. Like the other anon said, it's definitely a blank
>>30594417
Well, that's the most likely explanation. Those casings with the crimped fronts are blanks, .mil folks use them in training all the time.
>>30594417
its a blank
>>30594400
Probably a .308 blank
>>30594400
It's a spent blank.
Looks like it's probably a .308 blank at that.

That's pretty disappointing.
Here's the bottom, it's really blurry, my camera is shit and it's hard to get it to focus on something so small.

Need to know the number with the decimal in it to tell you the caliber.
Can't read it from the image.
>>30594487
Looks like 5.56 to me although it originally looked bigger than a 5.56 casing.
>>30594487
It's 5.56 by my eyes.
>>30594400
a 5.56 crimp end blank.
The longer crimp section and the fact that you're an Irishfag tells me it was likely fired from a Steyr AUG service rifle.
If you ever end up in the US, I'm sure some fellow /k/ommando like myself would be happy to take you shooting in trade for teaching us some proper drinking songs.

I can confirm, it says 5.56
>>30594523
Hey, I'll give you some just for the help you've already given me.
