AK's have been overprice since the Saiga sporters were banned from import. Even building from a kit is pretty much uneconomical unless you are fortunate to have a 12 ton hydraulic press, a drill press and a set of headgauges onhand already. after the kit, jigs and tools a basic build off a Polish kit comes out to being almost $1100. Sequential builds after that still costing around $550 in parts as well.
