There isn't anything really wrong with the 92, hell, for some people with big hands it's excellent.
It's also nice that you can find flush fitting 18rd mags for it, which really helps justifying it's size in this day and age.

Well you could get a pistol with a rail and then register as an AOW to put a foregrip on it, but make sure it's a metal gun with a metal rail, I've seen foregrips tearing off of pistol rails from recoil.

Actually, Taurus surprisingly never really fucks up the PT92 itself, if you get MecGar magazines for them, they'll be consistently reliable, almost as good as a real Beretta, never breaks, shoots straight, has a good trigger.
The only actually bad part about the PT92 is that the factory mags suck, but that's an easy problem to fix.

Both are wrong. The single best handgun ever build is the 1911. Not in function- I think we can agree with a fair degree of certainty that better guns exist- but for the legacy and innovation. When the 1911 was released, there were still some people building pepperboxes, and single action revolvers. Hell even its advantage over double action revolvers.
The fact is, there are still hundreds of 1911s, and derivatives being manufactured today, and you can thank any gun derived from the Hi Power, to the 1911. Do you like where your magazine release is? Thank our lord and savior John M. Browning.

Allegedly they've taken a bit of a dip the last few years for whatever reason. Could be as simple as worn machining, could be bullshit. I haven't handled a new one to be able to say.the three I've fired have been pretty damn good. One was so filthy the owner didn't even know it had dot sights

The only thing I hear about consistently is the factory magazines being bad, which is why I suggest to get those MecGars or to modify Beretta magazines.

All the other automatics were either .32ACP peashooters, or big honking monstrosities like the C96 with terrible balance and handling.
The Luger pointed well, was much faster and easier to reload, was compact and ergonomic, had a low bore-axis, and was lightweight.
Once the 9mm Parabellum cartridge was introduced, the Luger had all the power it needed and for that brief time, it was absolutely the best service pistol you could find.
