Last I checked, which has been awhile, a full auto Mac 10/11 is one of the cheapest ways to get a transferable full auto

So if I was you, and you're in it to win it, that's what I'd go with, because of all the SMGs out there, the price you'd pay for a semi auto isn't worth it

They have some mechanical similarities with the Sten, but mostly cosmetic as the Owen's actually well built and fairly fucking tough. Also handle a lot better than a Sten, more akin to a carbine, far as I know there's no real direct influences on anything else except perhaps the F1's that came after it post-Vietnam. Though like the F1's, they had a dodgy safety that would probably kill you if you're not careful!

My true love will always be the MP5, but the Owen's kind of a special gun.

An actual transferable MG Uzi would be something like $12000, a good 9mm subgun fetches a fair price due to the low cost of ammo allowing you to shoot it a lot.

If you just want an Uzi rifle, pistol, or SBR, it probably wouldn't break $1000 with an SBR stamp.

Many people think the collapsing folding stock is neat, and it kind of is, but I feel that the old fixed stocks are nicer on your cheek.

The Sten loses out on the fact that the Erma magazines are hysterically shitty.
As someone else says, the Sterling is better than the Sten in every way.

I'd sooner use a MAC M10 or M11/9 with a silencer than a Sten, if I'm going to be honest.

>>30578449

They're good, but I like the American copy better.

I bought a parts kit of one and figured I was going to 3d print and aluminum cast the lower. But I got lucky and the cuts were in the right places and I was able to weld the original together with a MIG and some carbon rods. Cut the auto sear and welded a block to the stock slot and sear slot to make it legal. Then blasted it and mag parkerized the lower to make it even. It works flawlessly and is a super fun plinker, with only 315$ in the hole and a weekends worth of time. But I wouldnt put it at the top as best SMG, close but not the best.

For being one of the earliest proper subguns, it was quite alright, especially after they dropped that Blish Lock nonsense, but it's awfully heavy and expensive.

I think the later M1A1 was pretty alright in concept but they could have redesigned it to have stamped sheet steel receiver to cut down on weight and manufacturing costs, and then going with a compensator to keep recoil down.

Sten's are still cool as fuck though. Pistol cal weapon that was simple to mass produce and ended up being effective against people with bigger weapons like rifles.
Very neat piece of history
would keep one as a safe queen/10

Sterling would be too tempting to actually shoot some paper and bottles with to leave around in a safe for very long.

Is getting rid of the stock slot necessary? Those demiled guns always seem like the stock on over folders is welded on in the upright position to the top receiver, so entirely removing it from the thing seems like a big grey area.

You think it'd cost more to get a second threaded barrel to press and pin on it, than it costed you to acquire the thing?

I would not weld the stock on the gun in the upright position. That would prevent you from disassembling it and being able to clean it. All I did was machine a block of steel to fit into the stock slot and then tack welded it. That way no stock can be fitted onto the gun. As for extra barrels. I have looked for threaded ones and otherwise and have yet to find a single barrel for sale. Czechpoint sells them for 90$ if they ever get in stock though.

Yeah I use a bore snake made for .308 rifles, the .32 acp (7.65 mm) round is only .03 mm larger than .30 cal (7.62 mm). Getting the snake through isnt a problem, just not as easy as it could be. I also use a plastic bore brush made for 9mm to clean out the chamber area, works well enough for the bore also.

More pictures of this skorpion? I'm a little fascinated by that not sure if I'd trust a receiver welded back together but it sounds a lot more sturdy than cast aluminum, that seems like a really awesome hobby project to work on. Please tell me you documented doing a lot of it this is my kind of gun porn fetish.

A 9mm brush works on the bore? I got a .32 waiting for me and been looking into different cleaning stuff figured I'd mostly settle for trying to get .308 stuff to work.

I really don't have many pictures of the projects I do. I mainly do pictures as a reference for later, I really get too engrossed in working on these projects that I forget to. I envy people like Boris (AK shovel guy), who take the time to document everything.

I bet you're here from /pol/. Probably reading all the HAPPENING threads and wishing you could defend yourself against muzzies or niggers just incase a RACE WAR or CIVIL WAR happens. Hell, you might even be waiting for the day of the rope. And if you are just remember to keep that shit out of my /k/

I know what you mean tried documenting when I was making knives but either I'd either get too caught up in the amount of mundane work, or scrap what I was doing and start the project over in a different way because of something new I learned or came up with.

That's really fucking cool that you were able to weld that back together. I didn't think that would be possible since like a lot of filler material in between the cuts. Does the mag have trouble fitting with a cut having being made down the well? The bolt looks like it travels so far back from the barrel chamber to strip a round from the mag are the carrier rails on the upper?

>Not likely at all? Like not even in the slightest?

I hate when people use question marks after declarative sentences. 14-20something girls do it all the time and it pisses me off to no end.

Rather good actually.
Steyr were fools to sell the design and rights to it, but it's in the good hands of B&T, they fucking know their subguns.

Case in point, the APC9

To be fair, plenty of things made in Meatballistan were made to appeal to aesthetics first, and to work second. They're the kind of country that considers coffee breaks an important part of the day. It means they have the PASSIONE to make things look absolutely PERFETTO. But making something that works? Not unless you can design it to get up thirty minutes late for work and take cappuccino breaks. See also: their performance vehicles.

MPAs? Yeah they're kind of fun, they have a whole line of modernized MAC styled guns, they even have ones in 5.7x28mm, using FN Five Seven mags, if you actually want that kind of thing, they make their guns in classic top-cocking style or a modernized side-cocking style, available with and without rails.

I wouldn't call most of their guns practical (though they have a fair few), but damn if they aren't fun blasters.

I second that. Moderately powerful closed bolt submachinegun with a hair trigger in a light pistol sized package with a rate reducer mechanism putting it at easily manageable 850 rounds/minute?

I like the VZ 26 and its amazing two stage trigger, but it cannot even compete.

Sign me up for a VZ 61 senpai

This story is one of the reason I went to study Electronics & Telecommunications instead of Weapons Engineering. Firearms will always be threatened by lawmaking tyrants on the civilian side, and corrupted officials guarding the interests of firearm monopolies on the military side.

I'm guessing he means MAC-10 not 11, which is over 6lb. It feels goofy for something that looks like a pistol
