Yeah sticking a gun in your waste band is a poor choice for some of the reasons already mentioned. I wear a strong side IWB (inside the waste band). I would strongly suggest a holster that covers the trigger guard so you you dont have any ND's. Also make sure that when you draw your gun (there is a safe way to draw from a holster) make sure the holster does not collapse. You need to try them out before you buy one. Most retailers will allow yuo to do this.

For what purpose? Reholstering? You could just take the holster out at that time and reholster off-body.
Sorta related~ any advice as to how I can CC a full size 1911? I know it's not ideal for CC but I know it can be done. I've been thinking 6 o'clock or leg would be the best but it still sticks out at 6.

It's not hard. Just get a decent IWB holster and wear it at 4-5 o' clock or a shoulder rig. If you're not comfortable with either setup, you'll never be comfortable CCing a 1911.
It's going to feel like you're carrying a big hunk of steel, no matter what you do.
