Is the CZ75 a meme gun? Thinking about picking one up as my first buy. I've shot several guns before (rentals) and I'm a decent shot at 15 and 20 yards.

Yes CZ 75 and it's variants are good guns. The design is somewhat based off browning hipower, which is what the 1911 is also somewhat based off of.
I have the compact Cz 75 P01 variant and it shits all over the beretta M9s that all of my friends have.

The CZ 75 was my beginner pistol, and I still like it quite a bit even though I'm really taking a shine to the Steyr S now. You won't regret owning one.

Its a great pistol. My dad has owned/carried one for 30 years. I bought one and prefer it over my striker fire pistols. Its heavy though so if you're looking for a lightweight thing then it's not for you

I have a 75 and a 75B, they are well made guns. I like them more than berettas and glocks just bore me to death. They aren't the most customizable if you are into that, they are heavy and the trigger takes getting used to but they are very accurate and built like tanks.

For a beginner, in general, I recommend .22s
You can start on a 9 or whatever, but it's better to start on a 22 until you can hone your fundamentals. Too many shooters start on larger calibers and develop flinches as a result.
If you're moneyed, the CZ-75 with a Kadet kit is fantastic and bar-none the best .22lr conversion out there for a handgun, which its self, is already one of the finest out there.
If you're a poorfag, The EAA Witness is an Italian-made CZ-75 clone comparable in quality going for 2/3rds the price. It also has a .22lr conversion kit available, not quite as nice as the Kadet, but half as expensive.

That said, the CZ75 is a gun just like a 1911 or a Sig or a Glock. Shoot a few, do some research on forums of people who've owned a few, make an informed decision, and buy what you like.

Yes. I bought the compact CZ P-01 for reasons and it being sex dressed up in wood grips, and even that is a very easy to use, minimum recoil gun for a beginner.
Had a friend who had an issue with the small grip area on the slide but that's taken care of with practice and finger fucking.
Superior steel framed compact coming through.

He stated the obvious at best, him saying that the CZ75 was duh behst doesn't mean that much especially when all the CZ75 had going for it was the fact that way back when, it was made from tool steel, which was compromised with the CZ75b, but today with modern metallurgy and designs, isn't needed anymore. Christ, the fact that there are M9s in service with 30K+ round lives that are still functioning well enough that their major issue is bad springs and mags, shows this more than ever.
Properly design a firearm and you don't need to use steel, a good aluminum alloy will work just as well.
I also seem to distinctly remember CZs from the past 6 years having numerous issues with springs after 1000 rounds or so, which goes to say something about the general design's harshness on it's most critical parts of function.
If you pick up a Cz75 consider matte stainless, it's so much more attractive than black. High polish looks cool too but high polish shows scratches.
And get some VZ grips.

I don't think they're over priced. They run for the same price as glocks and beretta normally do (maybe even a little less) and are just the same quality wise.
Poorfag here. Fired the CZ75, wonderful gun, ended up getting a Sar B6P, and I shit you not, CZ75 clone, just as good as the real thing, can be had for around $300
CZbros, I'm buying a 75 as my first pistol in a couple weeks and need some enlightenment.
I've handled the models in store and they feel great, so I know I'm looking for a 75, but I need your opinion on which model.

I'm looking for one of the compact models in 9mm, and I'm slightly leaning towards the decocker models for ease of carrying. Personally I think the muzzle on the PCR model is more attractive than the flat muzzle of the P-01, but appearance is second to function. The main question I run into is the comparison of the sight profiles on the PCR vs P-01. I've handled the PCR in store and liked it, but I know that the dots aren't glow in the dark; are the P-01 dots illuminated? Also rails.

Sorry for the low-def pic.. Recently went back home to muh CZ after trying out Sigs for a while. It was a choice between this CZ 75 D Compact and the BD Police model from OP. The CZ just fits my frame when carrying and my hands and it simply is amazing to shoot. I love the aesthetics.
People are just leery or hateful that such an amazing weapon is available for $450-750 (depending on the model and variant).
I also highly recommend the CZ-83 if you can find it

I run a SP-01 Shadow in uspsa production and I've spread some serious lead with it. So far not a single failure that wasn't because of issues with my handloads.

I should clarify, there are CZ clones that some would say are better than the pistols they copy. The Caniks that tristar imports come to mind. I've only handled a compact by them but it felt solid and the trigger was crisp and didn't cam the way it does on most cz's.
