Absolutely not. A 5.56 bullet won't even penetrate skin at 600 so why the hell would it be able to penetrate glass at 400? Think about it...

400 yards is nearing the max effective range for 5.56 and is roughly the max effective range for some loads. Standard auto glass and doors don't offer much protection against bullets but at that range it might just be enough to save your ass.

Well im gona give you the data using much older rounds.
Now the newer rounds are much better at penetraiting barriers due to better design etc. So I can assure you that hiding behind thin and weak barriers is a no go if you want to look pretty and be able to walk like a normal human being.
Don't listen to these faggots. At 500 yards m855 has the same energy as 9mm from a handgun, and does that have a problem penetrating glass or a car door?
But bear in mind your terminal effects and fragmentation at that range will be shit. There are far better cartridges for shooting at ranges over 400 yards.
