Post your cowboy guns here. Talk about 'em.
Should I get a Colt Army or a Colt Navy?
>>30543135
We'll, it's my understanding that the Navy hits like a .380. I'd say you should go for the harder hitting Army.

Army

That Remington is a beautiful piece man...
This is a long shot but I wonder if they make any cartridge shooting replicas. I can't say I wouldn't buy one in a heartbeat. Thing's a beauty, and I thought the Colt looked nice.

There are absolutely reproductions of cartridge-converted Remingtons. Most companies that do these type of guns (Uberti, Pietta, etc.) do them to the best of my knowledge
>>30543700
Goddamn. You learn something every day I suppose. I know Uberti does a few ones like Cattlemans and even Schofields but didn't know they sold full conversion copies.
Fucking sweet. I hope they shoot as well as they look.
>>30543715
Most of these companies make repros of cartridge conversion models as well, they were popular guns at the time
I certainly see the appeal, the 1858 is one of the most handsome guns of the period IMO
>>30543715
I went ahead and got a link too, just for you
I'm certain other companies do them as well

It's pretty cheap too. Damn I didn't expect that. I'll probably hold off on a revolver for now since I already got an S&W model 27 in .44. Nice to know though, thanks.
>>30543762
model 29* what am I thinking?
>>30543762
You mean Model 29?
I likewise intend to get into old reproduction stuff eventually, but for now I'm content with my .357. Most fun gun to shoot that I own
Serious question.
What revolver would one recommend for light weight, fast fire speed, and the possibility of shooting it in one hand? It needs to pack a decent punch as well, if possible
>>30543823
Fast fire speed? All revolvers by design are not gonna fire as fast as semi auto pistols, unless you have a hell of a strong trigger finger.
i'm gonna take a shot in the dark here(no pun intended) but you probably want a short barreled .357?
Any will do. I think the Colt Python looks like a good choice.
>>30543847
Do not worry about trigger finger. I spent years fingering my own asshole to prepare for a revolver
>>30543876
I found DA revolver shooting to be really difficult for the first while I had my S&W.
Before too long though I had one range day where it just sort-of clicked suddenly, I think from dry-firing, and suddenly it was easy.
The trigger may be heavy and long, but it's so smooth that it isn't actually hard to put shots on target easily and quickly
>>30543688
Yes they do of course; just ordered a cartridge conversion for a Navy (Richards conversion) repro from Uberti myself. I wanted to get the Remington conversion too, but I just found out my waifu is pregnant so I'm not splurging on guns anymore.

>>30543135
Army. Had a navy break in me bc there was no too rail guarding the cylinder and it took a long #all into concrete. Dropped my army from the same hight and only scratched it a bit.

Goddamnit are you me? I've been bitching forever about how Colt Frontiers can only be found as antiques and they're always ridiculously expensive
