That shooter was trained for sure. Normal people don't continue to advance towards their target or think to get around them, and they rarely have it in them for a close range killshot. What's shocking is that the races in Dallas get (or got) along really well. Lived in New York and New Orleans - everyone avoided hood blacks in New York and young black men in New Orleans.
The shooter won't have much support amongst the non-hood blacks in Dallas (the vast majority of the black population). DART is mostly run by blacks, most DPD officers I know are black, and I read about a female black protester who got shot by the sniper.
There's a 99% chance that nothing will happen and that everyone will forget until Trump brings it up at the debates. But that 1% makes me paranoid.
What's probably going to happen is that the whole BLM crowd gets acknowledged as a fringe group by everyone, especially blacks. Also calling it now - Trump gets the highest Black and Latino vote out of all post-war Republican presidential candidates. And Trump wins.
Doubt it will get out of hand. If it does, you'll find me with a white nose, a bottle of rum, and 2 young prostitutes in a mansion in Central America.

Literally camouflaged open carry black man that was wrongly identified as a "person of interest" can be seen in a video as the shots take place. Civilians surrounding him recognize he is NOT the threat, multiple police vehicles roll by him with lights and sirens and do not engage him as a threat.
Everything you just said is categorically false unfortunately. If you were right we would see people screaming in terror of his open carried rifle, the police would have exited the vehicles and attacked him. When he went to an officer to turn in his weapon to assure his innocence he would have been roughly arrested. None of those things happened, the police were able to differentiate between him and the snipers.
Also, the police were engaged by obviously trained men from an elevated position. That's called an ambush. We aren't advocating CCW for protection against planned and coordinated ambushes with long arms from elevated positions. Soldiers are ambushed all the time, it doesn't mean that their weapons and training is magically ineffective in other situations, it means a planned and coordinated ambush gives a marked advantage to the attacker.
