Shit starts with two way artillery duel to destroy and counter each other. Initial NorK push manages to get forward, but quite fast SouthK and USA gets their shit together and advancing NorK forces are blasted apart. China has been getting real tired of the Kim family's shit in recent years, that combined with better trade relations with the South makes China's down involvement hard to pin down. If anything North Korea would implode, as the chances of a civil war in the north outweigh the chances of any country willing to risk winning a war with the north and inheriting the crumbling infrastructure and lack of resources of Kimmyland.

Ironically, it would probably be another UN deal. North Korea will very soon outlive its already limited value to China, at which point they'll finally decide enough is enough and work out a partition deal and a rough sketch of how to later deal with >>30538912 with the UNSC. North Korea uses all their artillery to begin shelling the South and blitzes across the DMZ. Very quickly the South Koreans and Americans make their primary objectives to counter-battery the Nork artillery and to use their air dominance to smash Nork armor.
Losing their armor, the Nork infantry is hesitant/ unable to advance. After a little while South and American tanks show up and begin wreaking havoc. In the mean time strike aircraft and bombers go about eliminating control and command centers in the North, weapons and fuel storage, nuclear facilities. Killing Kim Jong Un is also priority like Saddam in 2003.
Once the Nork advance is halted it is pushed across the DMZ and then held there. The South doesn't want to deal with North Korean refugees.
The borders stay the same but any Nork that tries anything gets fucked up.

Tens of thousands of KPA special forces slip into the country the night before the invasion through tunnels and low-flying glider planes. They penetrate deep into the interior in preparation for the main invasion, upon which they proceed to cause massive chaos at logistical arteries, sabotage of all kinds, and ambushes at ROK/US troops responding. South Korea is thrown into chaos, disrupting, at least initially, the ability of the Allied forces to respond.
The KPA air force is mostly useless in air to air roles so they blow their load early in a massive sustained air raid against vital installations such as air force bases and other such things, also providing close air support for the initial invasion.
Meanwhile, the main armored thrust storms across the DMZ, meeting intense ROK resistance. Amid the confusion caused by the special forces, ground reinforcements are slow to arrive and bottlenecked, and weight of numbers means the KPA achieves a breakthrough despite taking heavy losses.
At this point, South Korea and the US have started to formulate a response, levying massive air power against known concentrations of KPA troops near the DMZ, but they are unable to respond effectively to the north korean breakthrough, with tanks now running through the depth of South Korea. Scattered Allied forces still are causing massive casualties fighting a delaying action south from the DMZ.
News of the reported breakthrough reaches and completely rattles Allied command. There are reports of KPA armored units to the east and southeast of Seoul. Unbeknownst to them, the north korean thrust is already starting to peter out as local allied commanders organize ad hoc battlegroups. The immediate threat at this point has been contained, but serious fighting continues and both sides take tremendous losses of men and materiel.

South Korea's commanders fear the worst however, and the decision is made to use tactical nuclear weapons on major KPA concentrations to prevent a total breakdown of the front and a completely chaotic situation.
The weapons are deployed at the still active DMZ where the flanks of the peninsula are still held by major Allied formations opposed by similarly large KPA formations. In an instant, huge numbers of KPA equipment and men are annihilated. Nukes are not used in the interior on the breakthrough as the situation is too chaotic there. With the majority of the KPA's reserve at the border wiped out through a combo of tactical nukes and massive air power and artillery salvos, the KPA's armored thrust is now cut off and encircled. The mopup operation now begins.
NK detonates multiple nuclear devices under SK via the tunnels, then attempts a rush across border during chaos, US Mobilizes response force. But suddenly China invades via the north, disposes of Kim family and floods streets with troops while instilling a puppet goverment, PRK propaganda moves into full swing and paints the action as a peace keeping force when in reality China wants to keep its bumper state free from UN hands. War is over in less than a few days.
I have been saying this for a few years now... China only "Sides" with NK if SK is the aggressor. If NK is seen as the aggressor state, China invades NK.
It would look like victory for a reunited Korean people and eternal glory for Dear Leader!
