Easy mode: No bitching about image related. The sooner everyone forgets the better.
Normal mode: No AAC meming.
Hardmode: No bitching about 'too small' ammo.

Italy. wtf r u doin?

Same here. I worry about OP in home defense.

Hornady "zombie" shit.

Probably the worst branding scheme ever conceived.
>>
>>30518947
At least we got what was effectively cheap Vmax out of it.
>>
>>30518947
they were literally renames of their standard JHPs for less $ tho
>>
>>30518947
The only difference between them and the Critical Defense line was the box, the color of the polymer tip, and the CD ammo has nickel-plated brass shells. So if the ZMax ammo is "the worst round ever conceived," so is Critical Defense...and that's objectively untrue.

I liked it conceptually but it's >>30518931 basically a flechette charge.

I can see that. Think it's actually worth getting? I'm on the fence still.

something about a good solid 200 grain buffalo bore hard cast round seems more appropriate for bears, but the Lehigh Defense rounds will definitely do the job too.

i just ordered a box of these ultra-high velocity fragmenting hollow points to compliment those rounds, they seem slightly more appropriate for 2 legged opponents.
>>
>>30519088
>>30519152
If we're gonna go full retard I may as well use S&W 500 for home defense.
>>
>>30519032
>Think it's actually worth getting?
Hell no. It's almost 2 dollars per shot. You can get based as fuck polymer tips for that and have the stellar advantage of not unloading pseudo-buckshot into the vicinity if it happens to strike a hard surface.

RIP round is frangible ammo done wrong in ways I'd find funny if they didn't make me rage so hard.

>>30519121
>tfw won't ever have to stuck JUST FUCK MY SHIT UP SENPAI ammo
I mean, there's the concern of body armour but as far as I'm aware a large majority of home invaders don't use it anyway.
>>
>>30518898
>>30518931
It's dogshit, the trocars do a teaspoon of shallow birdshot damage, the base does maybe .32ACP tier penetration, and this is a 9mm Luger load, high price worth it yet?

I'd sooner use ball loadings of 7.65mm Luger than I'd use RIP anything.
>>
>>30518922
The problem with 6.5mm Carcano at the time wasn't really the round nosed bullet (which wasn't the best choice at the time but it worked), rather, there was no standards for loadings, every factory would load their 6.5mm cartridges to their own specs, then this would get sent to depots and loaded randomly onto stripper clips.

So as a result, you'd often get different performance with each shot, you'd miss even if your sights were on for the last shot (and if that), you could never sight your rifle in.

Fascist Italy was kind of a shitshow that way.

Now, if you have a Carcano today, and some boxes of PPU brand 6.5mm ammo (or any other consistent source of ammo), you actually can use the rifle properly.
>>
>>30519040
Not strictly the regular rifle cartridge. It makes sense for the .30 Carbine to be round nosed though

>>30518947
Except that was basically a cheaper version of their good stuff, so actually not too bad at all.

>>30519088
Ah, the bear rapers.
Anyone ever tried .44 Magnum XTPs on a bear? That should do the trick too.
>>
>>30519032
What the other guy said, they're terrible and overpriced, any generic hollowpoint is better in every way.
>>
>>30520198
Except iirc PPU ammo has either the case walls too thick or the bullet diameter off. Don't remember which one. There's another company that has whichever problem PPU dosen't. So you can choose between having a shitty bolt cycle or shit accuracy.

Hornady made good 6.5, but its all gone. Good luck testing the Warren Report at home.

>Anyone ever tried .44 Magnum XTPs on a bear?
I used 357 on a brown bear getting too bold on a family camping trip. Not even +p and it dropped after one shot to the skull.

XTP is shit for home defense, but great for fucking up things twice your size innawoods.
>>
>>30519048
This may actually be right. Any propriety caliber not intended for reloading hunters is pretty retarded.

They're great for carry, .380ACP actually becomes rather decent with it, it makes up for it's inherent penetration deficiency.

Also I REALLY wouldn't want to use .357 for a brown bear, but you used .357 XTPs and that dropped him? I'll say that's pretty impressive.

For fucks sake anon IT SAYS IT ON THE FUCKING BOX
>>

>you used .357 XTPs and that dropped him? I'll say that's pretty impressive.

The XTP is retarded deadly. It's a case of good design beating raw power. I know that bullet went through his head and continued into his body (shot him as he was on all fours facing me) to cause more damage. But yeah, dropped him.

>>

God diddily damn that sounds fat.

Do you reckon a .44Mag XTP or .50AE XTP would be able to take a grizzly?

What's wrong with everyone? These aren't even close.

>>30521998
I have family m8. I'm not going to get into a shootout with cops to prove some dumb point. Besides, defeating Level IV body armour is an odious task.
>>
>>30522001
As goofy as the Dardick is, I think the .38 Tround has a good chance of giving you the same performance as the RIP load of 9mm
>>
>>30522001
Don't you dar dick me atround on this subject.
>>
>>30521967
Either would work for sure. Grizzly skulls maybe nigh bullet proof, but XTP would fuck them. 357 loaded hot might even work.

Hmm, what if .440 CorBon XTP?

Of course, one would have to handload it.

There's so much room for crazy handloads with this shit.
