That's good thinking. I am an artist from SF who needed to get the fuck out of CA and I'm more of a libertarian gun nut than anything but I don't really fit in with red state culture. I moved to MN and though there are lots of SJW types in the cities, they're nicely balanced out by rural areas and a strong gun culture throughout the state. Even a lot of the democratic reps here are pro-gun (because they HAVE to be to win). From what I understand, it's similar to WA and OR in this regard (although Seattle and Portland strike me as WAY more of a far-left nucleus than Minneapolis)
Moving to a "swing" area and representing gun rights is probably one of the best things you can do for guns in this country. You can also normalize gun ownership among your fellow hipster douches.
