But that's 10mm you're talking about.

>In this free-for-all, the assailant had, in fact, been struck 14 times. Any one of six of these wounds — in the heart, right lung, left lung, liver, diaphragm, and right kidney — could have produced fatal consequences…“in time,” Gramins emphasizes.

>Before the shooting, Gramins routinely carried 47 rounds of handgun ammo on his person, including two extra magazines for his Glock 21 and 10 rounds loaded in a backup gun attached to his vest, a 9 mm Glock 26.

>Now unfailingly he goes to work carrying 145 handgun rounds, all 9 mm. These include three extra 17-round magazines for his primary sidearm (currently a Glock 17), plus two 33-round mags tucked in his vest, as well as the backup gun. Besides all that, he’s got 90 rounds for the AR-15 that now rides in a rack up front.

Jesus fucking Christ, what was this guy on that allowed him to survive that shit? Just pure adrenaline?

It's hard to believe (I know that it happens, obviously) that an amount of damage that severe didn't at least hamper his fighting ability.

But nah, bullets in both lungs? Fuck it, I've got more killing to do, I can die when this is finished.
>>
>>30505454
>Remarkably, the gunman was still showing vital signs when EMS arrived. Sheer determination, it seemed, kept him going, for no evidence of drugs or alcohol was found in his system.

People only go down if they want to go down.
>>
>>30505469
Holy hell, I've heard about the power of the mind but this is just fucking amazing. This gives me hope that if I ever get shot up that much I can at least take down my killer before finally dying.

I can't help but think it was a combo of mental determination and of course adrenaline. If he wasn't so fucking hopped up on the fact that he was lighting up a bunch of cops, he'd have died.
>>
>>30505481
But anon, he did die
>>
>>30505497
Sorry, bad choice of words. What I mean is, if he had better control of his own emotions (who am I kidding, there can't be many people who can shoot up cops and remain calm) and didn't have so much adrenaline rushing through his veins, he would have died after the first or second fatal shot.

Have no doubt, the article says sheer determination, maybe the determination to keep fighting, but adrenaline is what kept him alive as long as he was.

If you can afford it and control it, go for it anon. But paying $1.30 a round against something half as much? If not it is definately worth getting twice the practice in for a good chunky round like that.

>>30505382

>>30505754
What about buying ammo though? I take it you either have a great job with enough money to waste on ammo, or shoot it at the range very sparingly.

I find it hard to buy a weapon where I can't buy at least 500 rounds to practice with/use for whatever.

When I go to the range I want to go home when I get tired of shooting, NOT when I run out of ammo, and this seems like .50s biggest weakness. $1+ a round my fucking ass.
>>
>>30505840
This. Though how many rounds do you tend to fire off and how often do you go to the range?

Not including range fees, targets and all that shit. Just on rounds. Typically I only ever take one gun once a week at least.

why are y'all a bunch of slacked jawed faggots?
>>
>>30505993
God damn right. If not spending $150+ per range trip due to ammo costs than my jaw is so slack you can just fit an entire bag of dicks in it. (especially not when 7.62 is like, .25c a round)

>there are people on this board, right now, that think any cartridge will turn a gun into a magical phaser.
Fatal doesn't mean instantly incapacitated.

Unless you take out a vital part of the nervous system, they've still got the opportunity to fuck your shit up.
>>
>>30506149
>take out a vital part of the CNS

This dude was hit in the spine, both lungs, liver, kidney, and a bunch of other places.

Any ONE of them is fatal (without immediate attention, especially if the fight lasts longer than you thought and couldn't get aid due to enemy fire) let alone FOUR-FUCKING-TEEN of them.

"Taking out" a part of the CNS? Do you mean just hitting it (which is usually enough)?

Plus, the CNS isn't exactly a prime target. There is a reason we're taught to aim for center mass, there's TONS of things in there that can be hit an instantly incapacitate/kill an enemy. The reason this story is so popular is BECAUSE this motherfucker took so many fatal shots and kept going.
>>
>>30506045
600rds a day is smalltime.
>>
>>30506443
600 rounds is small time? Sounds like you're more focused on firing off as many rounds as you can and not focus on how you're aim is, stance, methods, etc.
>>
>>30506314
>there's TONS of things in there that can be hit an instantly incapacitate/kill an enemy. The reason this story is so popular is BECAUSE this motherfucker took so many fatal shots and kept going.
Man... I only had one point, and I repeated it three times in as many sentences.

Human beings don't crumple to the ground unless the brain tells it to or can't tell it not to. Not even the heart is instant.

Even that skinny reporter chick in >>30505410 manages to sprint away in heels with fatal wounds.

>>30505704
.50 has more weight and velocity than .44
.440 has considerably more velocity than either, some loads approaching .454 tier
