I'm going to university of florida in the fall, not sure what my options are for owning a gun. anyone else in the same situation?

My friends all went to universities when we all graduated from high school and the next year they all went to community college with me because they couldn't afford another year at a university. I want to call them all dumbasses for their stupid shit and not planning.
